Prologue? Pilot? IDK Man I Just Work Here
(part 1.2)
{hey so uhhhh
i have finals coming up and its the last week of classes and im lowkey failing two of mine right now, so unfortunately im going to have to go on hiatus for a bit- even though i literally just started, ugh- while i try to catch up and deal with... all that
that said, ive decided to split the prologue up into three parts instead of two and just go ahead and give you what ive got so far of the rest of it
this and the third (and hopefully final) segment is where we really start setting up/contextualizing the "full house" premise of the fic
link to part 1.1 here}
~~~
So, over the next several weeks, they come up with a plan.
Most of them aren’t exactly happy about the plan, but… oh well.
The parents are determined to move their children- who have proven themselves to be prime targets for the supernatural- out of town, to relocate them somewhere they’ll be well-removed from the apocalypse unfolding in Hawkins. Caught up to speed about the history of Hawkins Lab and Owens’s involvement in everything, they all but order him to help with the arrangements.
And he delivers. Calls are made, blueprints are drawn, and before they know it, a plot of land has been secured two thousand miles away in California for a house to be built on. And it’s going to have to be a pretty big house, considering it’ll be home to six teenagers and a pre-teen.
The kids are dead set on not being separated again; it’s one of their conditions for agreeing to leave. Steve can’t blame them, honestly. After everything they’ve been through together, he doesn’t want to be apart from them either. In fact, he’s been feeling a bit paralyzed by the thought, has had a little trouble breathing since the move was decided.
He’s sort of out of it the next time everyone gathers at the hospital to hash out the details, to be honest, but in his defense, his head isn’t quite what it used to be before all the hits he’s taken in recent years.
But then the ongoing discussion turns to who will look after the kids, and well, that certainly gets his attention.
There’s a military blockade taking shape around the area, keeping the threat contained- but also the citizens. It’s only through Owens’s connections and influence that they’ll be able to sneak the kids out, and just that in itself is going to be risky. As much as they’d like to, they can’t take everyone.
The parents have agreed to join the resistance that’s starting to form, a force of townsfolk who have finally realized what’s really happening and are banding together to find a solution, or at least hold off the Upside Down from taking over for as long as they can. Hopper and Joyce have taken it upon themselves to teach everyone as much as they can about what they’re up against, and a few of the others are helping out with pooling resources and organizing community childcare.
For various reasons, their families won’t be coming along.
“Who’s going to take care of you all?” Sue asks, her question directed more towards the room at large than the kids themselves. “None of you are older than fifteen; I don’t want you out there on your own with no adult supervision.”
Karen starts to say something, probably about how she doesn’t intend to let Nancy stay behind either, that there will definitely be at least one person over fifteen present, but Steve cuts her off in his eagerness. He practically jumps out of his seat, actually, but he’s held in place by his desperate grip on the sheets of the hospital bed he’s still stuck in until he’s done recovering from the demobat bites.
“I’ll do it!”
Once again, all eyes are on him, and they’re broadcasting confusion, surprise- in the case of the parents, that is. The kids mostly look relieved. None of them will say it- the little shits- but he’s pretty sure they were just as worried about leaving him behind as he was about sending them away.
Claudia tilts her head at him in question. “You? What, by yourself?”
Steve figures the faintly bitter disbelief in her voice has less to do with him and more to do with Dustin’s deadbeat dad, so he chooses not to take it to heart. But before he can make a remark about how some men are actually interested in fatherhood- although he’s not entirely sure what his brain even means by that- Karen Wheeler speaks up.
“Not by himself, no. What I was about to say a moment ago was that Nancy is going too. I don’t want my daughter staying here after being involved with all this pretty much since the beginning. But, Steve, even then, you’re hardly adults yourselves- Nancy only just graduated high school last week. I don’t think you two should be left to basically parent seven kids all alone; it’s too much responsibility.”
(While she does have a point, and he’s certainly not opposed to having Nancy out of harm’s way, it’s also important to note that the daughter in question is currently busy giving shooting lessons to a sizable portion of the resistance. Nancy is no stranger to responsibility, but she isn’t exactly the motherly type, either. Regardless, Steve wants both roles for himself- at least on a subconscious level. He’s not quite aware of it yet, his rightful place as both mom and dad to the party, but… he’ll get there. He thinks of himself more as a glorified babysitter, really, but it is a position he takes very seriously nowadays.)
Mistaking Steve's spacey expression for something else, Dustin mutters smugly beside him, “I bet you would looove that.”
Steve rolls his eyes and shoots back, “Can it, kid. We’ve been over this. Nance and I are not getting back together.”
Nancy and Jonathan broke up after her graduation, for reasons which Steve has decided are none of his business. In some ways, this made the idea of rekindling their relationship- something his friends insisted he should try to do- more of an actual possibility. And yet, somehow, that in itself helped him realize that he doesn’t really want to get back together. And he knows she feels the same, even if there are some weird lingering feelings on both sides of the issue. They simply aren’t compatible, and that’s okay. It took him a while to get here, but now he’s happy just being her friend.
Thankfully, Robin joins in, interrupting that awkward train of thought and providing the solution to a problem Steve hasn't even considered yet.
“They wouldn’t be alone, Mrs. Wheeler. I can help out, too.”
“You would do that? Move across the country and play house with me and these brats?”
“Of course I would, dingus. Where you go, I go.”
The fondness in their exchange prompts some raised eyebrows from the others, but that’s irrelevant. Steve is just massively thankful that Robin is offering to come along. Having to choose between the kids and his platonic soulmate would have torn him apart just as badly as the bats did.
“And I’d say the same about Will and El,” Jonathan says as he joins the group. “So I hope there’s room for a couple more.” He glances questioningly at Argyle, who came in with him.
Argyle just shrugs. “I’m sticking with you, man.” Apparently, his parents turned him out to fend for himself when he hit eighteen, so he doesn’t have much to go back to, and he’s been content staying with the Byers until the blockade is lifted- or for the long haul, it seems.
Karen nods in Jonathan’s direction. “Good, I’m sure Joyce will feel better knowing you’ll be there.”
So that makes five of us. Considering I’ve wrangled most of these guys on my own plenty of times by now, that should be totally manageable. I guess it will be nice to have some guaranteed backup for once.
It looks like the gang is staying together after all, plus at least one new-ish addition.
But, speaking of "new-ish additions" to the group, there is still a six-foot deep hole in the entire plan, which is the question of what to do with a dead man when all his remaining friends are ditching town.
“What about... Eddie?”
~~~
{well folks theres the second installment of the prologue. as for the rest of it... youll get it when you get it. hopefully ill be able to start updating more regularly once i go back home for the summer. things are just kinda crazy right now hahahahaha <-(the deranged laughter of a person whose ass is not passing all their courses this time and is very seriously considering becoming a college dropout)
oh and yeah so eddies dead i guess. not what i had planned but sometimes the plot just does what it wants. you know how full house basically starts off with dannys wife dying in a car accident (offscreen and prior to the events of the actual show anyway)? and steve is like, very loosely the au's parallel of danny? well you might not have known that actually but i just told you. so. yeah. you get where this is going
also, to my unofficial beta readers and lovely mutuals @moreover-clover and @redley-of-many-noodles: i have seen your comments/messages and i appreciate your input, but ive decided im going to try not to take this project too seriously and just have fun with it rather than worry about how polished it is, so i think this is going to be a no beta project from here on out. thank you for the thoughtful commentary/critiques on part 1.1, and i do hope you continue to enjoy it <3
having said that, if anyone happens to notice glaringly obvious/simple typos that i could easily fix, or if any parts are just genuinely incomprehensible, feel free to point it out/ask for clarification if you want to}

"Do You Want One?" | Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader | 18+
Summary: your cousin shows you around Hawkins High for your first day, and is surprised to say the least when her sweet cousin hooks onto Eddie Munson. Just seeing him brings a swoop to your stomach you've never quite felt before, and become desperate for more of him.
Warnings: late bloomer!reader, virgin!reader, mentions never having experienced lust of the sort or really understanding what it is, corruption!kink, little praise, taking of virginity, slight perv!eddie
Authors' note: I, myself didn't feel any sort of sexual attraction or lust until i was 15/16. I tried to write the reader innocent without being infantilized. Also, these photos are for aesthetics only, not much of the reader is described, except for height. Also, my editor pulled through, despite her busy schedule, thanks @forget-you-morelike-fuck-you! This is a birthday present to @bebe07011, always one of the first to read <3
Word Count: 9k
The subtle, yet annoying ring of your alarm yanks you out of your sleep, a sleep that took hours to settle into after anxious tossing and turning. A yawn overtakes your body as you sit up, looking around sleepily at the boxes that contain the contents of your room. You whine as the stars overflow your vision from the rubbing of your eye.
Your tongue clicks against the roof of your mouth, tasting the mint of your mouthwash when your mom pushes a bagel into your hand. Most of the kitchen is still in boxes, just a few appliances on the unnaturally bare counters. “Hey, Aunt Karen just called and said Nancy will be here any minute.” She offers, and a part of you feels for the bags under her eyes.
“Thanks.” You say, garbled with a piece of bagel in your mouth.
“Oh, and Mike is being a little testy, so he probably won’t move from the front seat for you.” She laughs, shaking her head.
You shrug, not caring. “I’ve been in the backseat for this long.”
Two honks out the front announce their arrival, and you ignore the anxious reminders she hurriedly spits out as you grab your backpack by the front door, already filled with school supplies from Texas. You shout an I love you to her as the Wheelers’ Station Wagon comes into your sight from the swung open door, finally out of her worried clutches that you’ve been in from the last week straight.
True to Aunt Karen’s word, Mike gave a defiant look when Nancy demanded he get out the front seat. Again, you didn’t care. “Sorry Mike has a ruler up his ass.” Nancy apologizes, her smirk reaching your own in the rearview.
You roll your eyes, a signal that it really doesn’t matter to you.
Hawkins, miniscule in comparison to that of your old home, Houston, passes by in the windows and you huff a sigh out at how much smaller your world has gotten. Your town, your school…you wish you could go back and give a reality check to the girl who patronized Nancy for it on the phone.
As promised, Nancy shows you to the front office and your first few classes. Being the new girl in the middle of a semester is absolute bullshit, but at least it wasn’t Forks, Washington levels of bullshit. That level of attention would’ve had you crawling under a bridge. Thank God only one teacher asked you to introduce yourself to the class. The rest of them couldn’t even be bothered.
Nancy sits alone at lunch, a notepad in her hand next to a near empty lunch tray. One thing you notice is that this school is much more categorized than yours was. It felt straight out of a high school dramedy, one you would criticize for being cliché.
Oh. Maybe it does some have truth to it.
“Hey loner.” You greet her, your butt hitting the hard plastic chair.
“I’m not a loner.” She huffs, hand moving absentmindedly as she writes. “My news team is getting this week’s paper done, we usually get it done during lunch.”
You roll your eyes, having noted the empty space on her tray. “You work too hard.”
“Nope. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” She answers, her signature side smirk on her face. Sometimes, only sometimes, Nancy doesn’t really have a serious bone in her body.
You gesture to the cafeteria, opening your fruit cup. “So, tell me about your very categorized cafeteria.”
She laughs, pausing in the middle of the sentence she’s writing. “So. There’s the jocks/cheerleaders, the nerds, the band nerds, drama nerds, science nerds—"
“Those are different from the regular nerds?” You ask, eyebrow quirked.
“Yes.” She deadpans. “Those are the kids without a clique,” she points, a bunch of kids not interacting, shyly nibbling at their lunches. “And finally, where my brother sits. Hellfire.”
It felt dramatic, but the table definitely earned their last but not least position. They stand out from the crowd, not seeming to care about fitting in like everyone else so desperately does. From the looks of it, individually, none of them would fit in the crowd. As a group, they stick out like a sore thumb. They don’t even care.
Nancy seems to be speaking, but she fades into the background. While you tricked yourself into believing you were observing the table, it occurs to you your eyes are fixated on the head of it, your heart beating out of your chest as you stare at him.
Him.
“Who’s he?” You interrupt Nancy, watching as his long frizzy hair curtain over his face. You didn’t even know someone in real life could be this good looking, you were sure it was reserved for celebrities in magazines.
Nancy switches her glance back and forth between your slack jaw and wide eyes and him. “That’s Eddie Munson.” She answers, her voice calculated. “The dork that I complained about Mike copying, remember?”
Your tongue reaches out to lick your lips, staring at him distractedly. A hot feeling in the swell of your gut overwhelms your senses. “You described a wet-rat loser.”
Nancy huffs in abrupt laughter. “That’s cause he is!”
“Him?” You ask, this hot feeling starting to radiate. You notice it’s especially hot in your crotch, a sort of…want you’ve never felt before. You’ve never craved for anyone this badly.
Nancy laughs in disbelief, surprised to say the least that her sweet cousin is openly drooling over Eddie The Freak Munson of all people. “I can put in a good word, if you want.” She teases, smirking at the way your eyes widen in panic.
“No, no, please don’t.” You insist, your eyes finally flickering back to her.
“Fine, you can drool from afar.” She muses. “Oh, lunch’ll be over in a handful of minutes. What’s your next class?”
“History.” You answer, viewing your crumpled schedule. God, not another boring lecture.
Nancy bites her lip, something she’s clearly not willing to share with the class. You don’t ask, still trying to catch your breath.
She walks you across the school to the classroom littered with historical figures and maps. She salutes you, telling you she’ll see you in AP Calculus right after this one. The look on her face never leaves it, she’s always got a secret right under the surface, but this one seemed more entertaining than the rest.
When you enter the classroom, the teacher tells you there’s assigned seats in this one and lucky for you, there’s one seat left. She directs you to the far-left corner, signalling to the one on the right. You shyly ignore the looks on your new classmates faces, all of them observing the face of the new kid who started so late in the year.
New faces are always hard to ignore, it’s just human nature to stare. Still, your stage fright is present in the forefront of your mind.
Your teacher starts the lecture by introducing you as a new kid, offering a wave to everyone that turns their head to look at you. Why can’t teachers just learn to be normal?
Your head is turned down, leaning on your elbow as she starts to explain a concept you’ve already learned last year. Are they sure they put you in a grade 12 class? At least this will be easier than most. Suddenly the heavy door opens, and your heart stutters as the man who’s taken over your every thought stumbles into the room ten minutes late.
“Mr. Munson! How nice of you to join us!” She greets, her scowl indicating that it’s anything but.
“You are so welcome, Miss. Greyson.” Eddie answers, his voice dripping in a tenor tone that sends a shiver down your spine. Not a lick of sarcasm comes from him, answering as if she was genuine.
She sighs, closing her eyes in exasperation. “Just go have a seat.”
Something in you suddenly realizes that the only available seat is right next to yours. A thrill takes over you, biting your lip excitedly as he struts as if he has all the time in the world.
After a brief stint on the projector, Miss. Greyson instructs the class to open their textbooks and answer questions on the following pages. “You may work in pairs.” She answers the many raised hands, and the room is filled by the harsh sound of desks groaning against the floor.
You get up from your desk, leaning into the teacher as she gathers the laminated sheets she had just used for the lesson. “I don’t have a textbook, yet.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry.” She replies, dropping her pile to shuffle off to her desk. “I completely forgot, in all the excitement.” She hands you the textbook that looks about fifteen years old, the spine cracked to oblivion. She leans in as you grab it, an apologetic look on her face. “I’m sorry about the placement of your desk, just ignore him. There was no one I hated in this classroom enough to place next to him.”
You resist the urge to raise an eyebrow, perplexed at her open disdain for him. It reminded you of the tone of voice Nancy had over the phone, wondering if the whole school was really this open about it. “I’ll live.” You answer, and she winks like you two share a secret.
Your textbook lands harshly on the desk, opening it to the page indicated in white chalk written on the blackboard. God, the reading is four pages, and the questions are a paragraph each. This much reading on the downfall of Mycenae? A jarring noise to your left surprises you, looking up to face his desk come closer and closer.
He leans over, a smile on his face that sends a thrill right through you. “So, how come I’ve never seen you around?”
He talks low, you spend the time hoping he doesn’t notice the goosebumps that trails over your skin. “Uh, I just started today.” You beg yourself to seem normal, to look him in the eyes like a decent conversationalist. You can’t bring yourself to, no matter how hard you try. Somehow you know when you finally look in those eyes of his, you’ll be too mesmerized to look away.
The printed words on the page make no sense, just a blur of boring text in black and white.
He leans back in his chair; you can feel his eyes planted on you. “Ah, makes sense. I would’ve remembered seeing your pretty face around.”
Oh my god he just called me pretty. Surely, he’s lying? Being in his line of sight and being considered good looking enough to him for him to even glance at was never in your wildest imagination, picturing him glazing right over you. Just a bug on the windshield. You gulp, pretending to be infatuated with the page in front of you instead of the man next to you.
“You shy?” He asks. In the corner of your eye, you see him leaning onto his elbow, his eyes staring a hole in your head.
Finally, you tear your glance off the textbook and onto him. God were you right about his eyes. How can a pair of brown eyes be so captivating? They’re a perfect chocolate brown, his mouth in a lopsided expression that sucks the air out of your lungs. “A little.” You admit, distracted by the sound of his fingers tapping rhythmically on the desk.
His limber fingers are dressed in chunky silver rings, the sight of his hands moving distractedly suddenly sends the heat you felt in your stomach earlier into a frenzy, the pull strong and overwhelming. “I can work with that.” A shy smile lands on your face, clenching your teeth as a method of resisting the urge to smile ear to ear. “Can I get a name?”
You tell him and hearing it from his lips is a vice and a half. “And you’re Eddie.” You say before he can introduce himself.
“So, my reputation precedes me.” He laughs, crossing his arms. “Or am I exactly like they said?”
You shrug. “Not exactly.”
His shoulders indicate a silent huff of laughter. “Care to expand on that?”
You shrug again. “You’re just…different.”
The look on his face indicates this answer isn’t good enough, but he doesn’t care to ask you to expand any further. As you work on your homework, finally settling your heartbeat and breathing rate, he writes in a notebook littered with graffiti. His left foot rests on the edge of his desk, the book resting on his thigh as he writes with the dull pencil.
He’s not doing any homework, but he’s at least letting you work on yours. The bell finally rings, dismissing you from your class and the room fills with chatter as everyone packs their bags. “You know where your next class is?”
You shake your head; having told Nancy you could work it out on your own. “Uh, no. It’s AP Calculus with Mr. Warner.”
“Mr. Warner.” He muses, his notebook in one hand and carrying a small metal tin. “Here, I’ll walk you.”
You pause, gulping as your bag rests on one shoulder. “You don’t have to do that.” You insist, suddenly realizing he’s about a whole head taller than you.
He smiles, his gaze making you feel…hot. “I didn’t ask, sweetheart.”
The way you gulp, your wide eyes darting back and forth between his, your teeth biting on your bottom lip nervously, Eddie was startled at the physical reaction and it was all going straight to his dick. The urge to shove his thumb between your pretty, plump lips is overwhelming, to say the least.
“Oh.” You answer, fingernails digging into the strap of your backpack. “Then lead the way.”
Eddie shakes his head, starting down the hallway to the other end of the school. As soon as he reaches the classroom, he turns around, leaning against the locker on his arm, neck hunching over you. Oh god, he’s gorgeous. “Will you let me take you out on a date, tonight?”
Every bone in your body wants to say yes, fingers just itching to reach out and touch his lithe hips. “My mom won’t let me go out on a Monday.”
So, that was not a No. “I would’ve asked for Friday, but I can’t wait that long.”
His admission drives you crazy, that heat ever present. Things like this just don’t happen. “Neither can I.” You admit, feeling scared of the rush that overwhelms you, yet scared of the idea of it never happening. You think quickly, biting your lip. “Think you can pick me up from my cousin’s house?”
He squints, crossing his arms as he leans against the locker. “Who’s your cousin?"
“Nancy Wheeler.”
His eyes bug out of the sockets, sighing in disbelief. “You’re cousins with Wheeler?” You nod, wondering if there’s any unspoken animosity between them. “I’ve dropped her kid brother off a few times, I know where she lives. You gonna tell your mom where you’re heading out for the night?”
You shake your head, sure he knows the answer, already.
Eddie huffs, hoping the crotch of his pants won’t give him away. “You ever snuck out before?”
“No.” You answer, looking up as the bell rings. “But I’m sure I can manage.”
You can’t place the expression on his face, somewhere between bewildered and amused.
For the record, it’s pure lust, having just met you and he’s already accidentally convincing you to sneak out for him. He wants you to, wondering if one day you’ll go so far to skip class to have fun with him under the bleachers.
His eyes leer down your body, watching as your skirt dances across your bare thighs while your feet can’t stay in place. He plays with his fingers absentmindedly, just barely resisting the urge to move them past the barrier and watch your face melt in pleasure.
“What time?” Eddie asks, eyes flickering up to your sweet face.
You think about it, knowing you’ll need time to grab at least a dress and get ready at the Wheelers’. “7:30.”
Eddie laughs, turning away from you and back down the hall to where you presumed his class was. “Pick you up at 7.”
“I-I said 7:30!”
“I’ll honk twice!” He answers, hand in his pocket like he didn’t just glue you into place.
The echo of his voice suddenly reminds you the halls are empty, only a few feet away from Mr. Warners classroom. You know more than anyone that AP Calculus students just aren’t late. Maybe he’ll give you grace on your first day.
You ignore the way every set of eyes switch to you, looking around the room for an empty seat. Luckily, Nance has saved one right next to you. “Hi, sorry. Couldn’t find it.”
“That’s alright, take this and have a seat right next to Miss.Wheeler, there.” He offers, gesturing to your cousin.
When the lecture ends and he assigns homework, she gets right to the point. “So, how was History?”
You sigh, rolling your eyes in exasperation. “You knew he’d be there.” You accuse, her grin affirming your assumption completely. “A warning would’ve been nice.”
“Not like you had to speak to him.” Nancy sighs, opening her textbook to the page indicated.
You stare at her pointedly, opening your book to a random page. “I sat next to him.”
Nancy instinctively knows something is up, seeing something was on your mind. “There’s something you’re not telling me.”
“You’ve barely given me a chance.” You comment sarcastically, looking over at her expectant face. “Hehe asked me out.”
To say Nancy is surprised at this development would be simply, an understatement. “I’m sorry?”
You grin, finally letting that smile you’ve been hiding take over. “He’s picking me up at 7.”
“Like your mom will let you go out on a weekday.” She squints, knowing your mom’s tendencies to make you prioritize school over anything else.
“…which is why I need you to cover for me.” You hesitate, grinning shyly when she gives you a look of utter disbelief.
“Seriously?” You nod, pleading with her silently. “Fine. But you owe me big.”
You promise to make it up to her.
When the bell rings signifying the end of the day, your heart beats rapidly as the time for your date comes closer and closer. Nancy said she wouldn’t be able to help with your conundrum of the fact that you’ll need a dress and a way to get from your house to Nancy’s.
As you sit next to her while she writes a rough copy of an article wondering who you could possibly get to drive you. You might be shit out of luck. Like an angel, a freckled redhead appears out of nowhere. “Nance, is that the cousin?” She asks, sitting right across from you.
From the look on Nancy’s face, you’re unsure how close they actually are. “Yep.”
“Cool! I’m Robin, over-sharer, anxiety ridden, fast talker. Nice to meet ya.”
You take her extended hands, sort of hypnotized by her warm green eyes. “You too.”
“Hey, Steve busy?” Nancy asks, a million thoughts behind her head.
“Probably not.” Robin offers, getting up from the table. “Why?”
“Oh, she needs a ride.”
Robin eyes you, a smirk landing on her face. “I can convince him.” She side eyes, gesturing for you to follow.
You follow her around the school to the front where you face a handsome lanky dude sitting impatiently as he waits for his friend. When he turns the window down to ask who you are, you realize he’s not just handsome, he’s hot. God, you’ll have to reprimand Nancy for leaving that detail out. “What’s with the guest?”
“She’s Nance’s cousin. She needs a ride, would you mind?”
“What am I, a chauffeur?” Steve asks, face shifting into a deep scowl.
You stop Robin from responding, having an immediate comeback. “I had to listen to my cousin bitch about you for hours. Hours. I think I deserve a little compensation for my time, don’t you?”
Steve smirks, looking from under the hair falling into his face. “Whatever, get in.”
“Where you need a ride to?” He asks as you get into his backseat.
“My house.” You pause, hesitating to say the second location. “Then Nancy’s house.”
Steve squints suspiciously at you in his rear view. “Why two locations?”
“So my date can pick me up tonight.” You admit, glancing out the window shyly.
Robin turns in her seat, jaw dropping open. “Isn’t this your first day?”
You shrug, biting back a smile. “So?”
“Oh shit.” She glances to Steve and back to you. “Who? Do we know him?”
“Um, probably.”
“We know him.” Robin states.
“Turn here, third house on the left…” you tell him, getting out of his car as soon as it stops.
When you get inside your house, you explain to your mom you are way further behind on school than you thought you were and will need some time to get caught up. She asks how late you’ll be, and when you say midnight, she doesn’t even hesitate to let you go.
Thank god you don’t lie, because this should not be this easy. Your hands ruffle through the box of dresses by your bed, grabbing at a few you know look good on you. They’re stuffed into your backpack, cursing yourself for not unpacking your makeup earlier. Hopefully Nancy will be nice enough to lend you some. (You doubt it.)
You rush a love you out to your mom and back into Steve’s back seat, out of breath from running up and down the stairs so damn fast. God, the things you were doing for your goddamn date.
Nancy only lives down a few blocks from you, thus the easy carpool your moms figured out until you get your car. God, in Houston you could’ve just taken a METRORail, you didn’t need a damn car. You thank Steve profusely, thankful for his saving grace.
You would rather tell every member of Hawkins Senior class personally a fun fact about you than go out with Eddie in the same thing you wore to school. You’re shy, not pathetic.
“You don’t owe him anything if you tell us who asked you out.” She calls out of her open window, face full amusement. “C’mon!”
You wait as they pull forward, Steve shaking his head at his best friend’s shenanigans. “It’s Eddie Munson!” You shout, laughing as she shouts a what in utter disbelief.
You wave as they take off, thinking you and her could actually be great friends. She has the kind of spunk you look for in a friend, the same spunk you’ve witnessed in your cousin. A large part of you wonders why they’re not friends.
When your Aunt Karen wonders why she wasn’t alerted, you give the disclaimer you’re just there to catch up on the schoolwork. Your Uncle Ted insinuates Houston must be so far behind Hawkins, and you grit a smile in response, an indent on the tip of your tongue from your teeth. Most of your lessons from the school day you had learned last year, already earning top marks on those questions. The only class that was remotely hard was calculus.
It was borderline hilarious.
You run up the stairs, stomach in knots.
Nancy is nice enough to let you use her makeup, grinning up at you with amusement as you ruffle through the dresses you so hurriedly packed. She gives a definite yes to a dress you knew stands out but worry at the way it just brushes against your thigh, and the neckline dives deeper than what you’re used to.
When it cascades down your body, the look in her stark green eyes tells you everything you need to know. This was the dress. Nancy is kind enough to do your hair, talking quietly with you as she curls your hair.
The half hour leading up to 7 has you lying on her bed, freaking out. She does the homework you’re supposed to be doing, answering your questions vaguely. She tries to make you feel better, grinning cheekily as she never imagined her sweet cousin going on date with Hawkin’s resident metal head.
When two honks occur down the street, you sit up starkly at the sound, biting your lip as you glance to her. “Go. I’ll distract my parents.”
She does, asking them for faux advice in the living room as you sneak past them to the front door, closing it with the most care you could muster. When you don’t hear any commotions, that gives you the go ahead to run down the street to the large van that sticks out, headlights on as it sits idly.
You peer up at him through the passenger window, waving as he unlocks it for you. The lopsided smile on his face starts that heat up again, like he turns on burners all over your body at will. The door shuts behind you, and you smile up at him shyly when he turns down the music.
“You look…wow.” He compliments you, watching the way your eyes look up at him, that beautiful shine.
You assess his outfit, a leather jacket worn with a graphic t-shirt and jeans with rips at the knee. He looked casual, but damn fine regardless. Him losing his metal accessories and devil-may-care look probably would’ve disappointed you, anyway. “So do you.” You offer back, taking in the way he looks as he starts his van and pulls out.
“Thanks.” He winks, turning at a traffic intersection. “So, there are several places we can go, the movies, Hal’s Diner, Benny’s Burgers, bowling alley, the Drive In, up to you, sweetheart.” He insists, driving his van around the small town.
The only thing you want at the current moment is to be in close quarters with him, with the need to kiss him crazy, a need you’ve experienced far too much this quickly. There’s only one thing that allows that. “Drive in.” You decide, the prospect of those same close quarters sending a thrill down your spine.
Eddie signals left, the drive-in location the opposite way from where he’s been driving. “Sounds good, love.”
Eddie doesn’t ignore the way you subtly avoid eye contact from him, shyly looking at your near bare thighs. By the way, were you trying to get a rise out of him with this wonderfully slinky dress you’re wearing? The moment you crawled into his van he was overthrown by your sweet perfume and the way your dress smooths over your gorgeous curves. It’s too hard, impossibly hard, to resist leaning in for your sweet scent, to nuzzle his nose in your neck. The idea that you don’t want to leave the intimacy of the van any more than he does is enough to bring the urge to readjust the crotch of his jeans.
By the time he pulls up into the far corner of the lot, turning on his radio so it connects with the movie mid-beginning credit scene, you take in the sparce parking lot, only a few vehicles spread apart sporadically. Well, you wanted intimate. You wanted close, now you've got it. His freshly showered self with the mix of his cologne just adding fuel to the ever-increasing fire.
This fire suddenly sends the need to squeeze your legs together, not completely understanding the feeling, but there’s an inkling. An instinct that on some level you know what it is, but no one ever warned you it could be this intense.
The first act of the movie is shared by you and Eddie laughing at the same jokes together, grabbing candy from his hands when he offers it. You sip on a straw in a glass coke bottle, if only to calm the nerves combined with heat that has completely overshadowed any sense you seem to have. Eddie leans back comfortably in his fabric covered seat, a hand landing on your bare thigh.
Oh, that turned up the heat several notches. It starts to become clearer that this heat is what can now be more clearly defined as a want. A want for…more of his hands, further up, him, close to you. Closer.
As your thighs tense and clench under his touch, Eddie can’t hold back any more like he planned. His other hand is tucked under your chin, lifting your big eyes to look up at his. His thumb brushes against your bottom lip, your mouth parting as you look up at him with stars in your eyes. “Can I?”
Your eyebrows furrow, breath stuttering as you peer up at him. You nod your head, glancing at his shiny pink lips. Every inch of air is tugged from your lungs as he leans forward, lips open as he places them on yours.
Eddie had every intention of kissing you delicately, the way he knows you deserve to be kissed, gently and patiently. As soon as the whimper leaves your throat and vibrates into his mouth, he forgets his good intentions. The kiss turns dirty, fast, the pressure of his spread hand increasing in the best fucking way, making your body fold involuntarily towards him.
Just when you’re enjoying the feeling of his tongue against yours, mewling pathetically against his lips, Eddie starts to kiss down your throat. You sigh, leaning back as that heat finally gains a resolve. Oh, god you're horny. Is that what that is? No wonder teenage boys are such perverts.
The combination of teeth and tongue is everything you needed and more; every muscle feeling like jelly as his lips and hands work like magic over you. Eddie licks a strip up to your ear, a startled and blissful moan filling up the car. He skips right past the pleasantries, past any inclination that you were anything other than wild for eachother. “You ever touch yourself, sweetheart?”
Only God knows why, but the dirty sentence just makes you hungrier for him, more eager. However, the answer to that jarring question is an honest and stuttered, “No.”
Eddie separates from you, giving you a look, you can’t quite place. “Wait, really?” You confirm it, breathing heavily, gasping as his eyes visibly darken. “So, you’ve never cum before?”
The sentence makes your eyes widen, gulping at that gorgeous face of his. You think you know what he means, but you still need clarification.
“Orgasm, princess. Have you ever had an orgasm?” He asks, a hand placed on your cheek as he watches your reaction.
Oh. That’s what you thought. That’s an absolute and definitive, “No.”
His fingers increase their pressure, a reflex of from his reaction. God, you’re more innocent than he even knew. The idea of even teaching you what it means to get off sends a swoop through his gut, picturing you looking at him with those wide eyes as he corrupts you.
God, does he want to corrupt you. He wants to corrupt every inch of you, turn you into someone who begs him to skip class so you can guzzle on his cock. The way you stare up at him waiting for a response, eyes glazed over as you wait for him to continue kissing you, as if you don’t even remember you’re at a drive in to begin with.
His cock has never hurt so much from the blood pulsing through it, probably an angry red at this point.
“Can I give you one?” He asks, thumb starting to rub on your bottom lip again.
“An-an orgasm?” You stutter, voice squeaking through the question. He’s gorgeous, the way he stares down at you, those same chocolate brown eyes making that heat pool. Despite the fear, the arousal is greater. “Uh, sure.”
He smirks, watching your eyes dart back and forth nervously. “You’re sure?”
“Yes.” You confirm, pulling him for the kiss you so desperately crave. You weren’t sure how it happens, your hands having a damn mind of their own. Despite him pulling away, he slips back into the kiss easily, the hand on your thigh and hand on your face making you feel dizzy.
You’ve had kisses before, but you knew you were missing something in them. At last, you’ve found it, desperately clinging onto his kiss. God, he’s good at making you turn into mush, relaxing into his seats almost completely.
His hand inches up your thigh, waiting for you to protest. Your breath hitches as he gets closer and closer. “I'm gonna make you feel so good.” He promises, his hot breath turning you into a liquid. Finally, his hand lands on the cotton of your underwear, his strokes tugging mewls into his open mouth. “Shit, you’re soaked, baby. You even know how much you want me? Probably confusing, hmm?”
He puts pressure at the top, rubbing small circles and it feels like fire is set to your center, gasping as your concentration falls apart. His fingers feel good, in a way you didn’t think was possible. Words in your mind echo the thought of how damn good he feels, mouth attempting to tell him, but nothing comes out but wanton gasps.
Eddie watches you wither in his chair, legs opening for him. Sure, giving you an orgasm is a fierce turn on, but knowing you’ve never experienced any type of pleasure or want is sent straight to his cock. He remembers learning how good it felt to start rubbing his cock when it got hard, how often he started doing it when he realized it led to something.
All he wants to do is turn you into a pervert, one orgasm at a time.
That same warmth that’s made home in your gut starts to build, your thighs tensing up when it occurs to you what its building to. “Fuck.” You gasp, Eddie humming at the swear that leaves your lips. “Close, and I haven’t even really touched you, hmm?” He muses, lips starting to add a second sensation on your neck with his hot and wet tongue.
He pushes your underwear aside, fingers finally making direct contact with the wet slick of your folds. “Eddie.” You gasp. The skin on skin makes your head spin, clutching onto his leather jacket with desire. The pleasure jumps up thirty notches, that build reaching an all-time high. Nothing has ever felt better, never so fantastic. Again, now you understand why teenagers are such perverts.
“Let me see you cum, I can feel it coming, baby.” He whispers, licking his lips.
He slides a finger deep in you, the sudden intrusion alien but welcome. On the edge, you become even more completely desperate for him. How was his finger even better? How was that possible? The feat thrills you, happily and willingly giving into everything he gives you. “Damn. Baby. You look so fucking good, think you can cum for me?”
His fingers hook within you, and it pushes you over the edge you’ve been staring down, stars invading your vision, the heat you’ve felt everywhere, all at once. Your tight entrance pulses around his fingers, twitching, not aware of the loud, whiny moans that Eddie’s sure the concession stand less than twenty feet away can hear, but he’s proud of it, grinning maniacally at his hard work.
He guides you through it, thrusting his fingers as he watches you come apart under his touch. When you stop shaking, his hand rubs your pussy gently, admiring the slick that is now pooled down your thighs and even onto his chair. He smirks, catching your eye when they finally open to face him. “How’re you doing, love?”
You forget to be shy in your smile, grinning maniacally as you grab him, yanking him in for a hot, wet kiss. It’s even dirtier than before, attempting to show him how grateful you feel for his magical fingers. “That was…so…good.” You mumble, smiling wider when you can feel him do the same.
“Feels good, hmm?” He asks, his fingers still stroking you gently.
“Jesus.” You answer, thighs convulsing involuntarily.
Eddie chuckles, amused that it takes you cumming to cum out of your shell. “You’re pretty like this, you know?” You roll your eyes, and he can feel the dismissal of his compliment. “Can I eat you out, baby?” It shouldn’t be this embarrassing, but it is. You barely know any of this terminology, and he can feel you tense up below him, your once liquid limbs turning to steel. “You have no idea what that means, do you, baby?”
You shake your head, gulping in the embarrassment.
“That’s ok. Of course, I don’t mind helping you.” Eddie doesn’t mind. When he says that he’s under exaggerating, not showing an ounce of his true feelings. How much does it take for you to squirm under his dirty words? How much patience does he have before he begs you to let him shove his hardened cock down your throat. How long will it be until you’re riding him like a porn star? If he was even slightly sleezier, he’d bet on it with someone. “I’d make that pretty pussy feel even better with my tongue.”
Oh. That sounds miles better than anything your brain could’ve come up with. You bite your lip, staring up at him with pure want. “You’d do that?”
“If you’re willing to come into the back with me.” He muses, nodding his head to his elongated trunk. You turn your head, facing a fleece blanket placed on the floor of the van with a few pillows. Did he do this for you, or is it always this nice?
Eddie doesn’t think you can get any cuter, but when you nod excitedly, starting to crawl into the back before he can say anything, he’s proven dead wrong. He’s never been so happy to be wrong. As you crawl, he watches your ass, your underwear still pulled to the side as the shine on your folds is still visible in the light of the movie.
He smiles, crawling as soon as you land awkwardly on the floor of the van. You sit cross legged waiting for him, one spaghetti strap fallen off your shoulder as you bite your lip anxiously. It doesn’t help Eddie that the strap on your shoulder starts to reveal a breast, just peeking at the top of the nipple. He’s barely seen you, just at the tip of the iceberg of touching you, and he’s about to pop from the anticipation.
How are you doing this to him so easily?
Eddie leans in for a kiss, something as soft as he wanted to give you the moment he saw you sitting in the desk next to his, but his hormones got the worst of him. He kisses each bare shoulder, admiring the way you relax into it.  His long fingers reach to the already fallen strap, fingers brushing as he tugs it down further, fully exposing the partially exposed tit. Your heart races, loud, too loud, in your temple and you wonder if he can hear it.
Eddie can’t, as heartbeats are usually inaudible to the naked ear. He can hear, however, the way those sweet breaths get louder, faster, and even more utterly pathetic for him. Eddie feels a goal take over his mind like a parasite, one he welcomes with a bed made. He plans to make you moan and whine louder so that everyone within ten miles can hear how good you feel, what a good whore you are—he’s getting ahead of himself.
Right now, he focuses on making you feel comfortable, helping you become at ease so you will never be self-conscious with him, never afraid of being too loud, or too eager. He can’t imagine ever thinking otherwise with you. He thought he knew the definition of impossible, but now he knows he had no clue.
Every sensible, distinguishable thought has left your brain, too focused on how good his tongue and teeth feel as he expertly works on your beaded nipple. His brain is going a million miles per hour, yours left behind in the middle of a desert. His hand guides the other strap down your shoulder, fully exposing your chest, the soft material falling so it sits wrapped around your hips.
Teeth scrape against the curve of your breast, as if his tongue is attempting to taste every inch, every centimetre of it. One hand smoothing the skin just below them. Wet kisses trail down your torso, tongue dipping into your navel, the sweet swell of your stomach, his dull nails digging into your soft flesh, the pain adding to the beauty of the mixed sensations.
Your pussy is raging in fire, shouting for the same attention he had been so generous at providing. He feels your thighs tensing, attempting to provide friction for yourself where you need it the most. “Does it hurt, baby?” He asks, mouth now at the base of your neck. “Does that sweet pussy hurt for it?” You nod, rubbing your thighs like a damn cricket. “Oh, I know, I’ll make it all feel better, don’t you worry.”
He admires your face, the way your eyes are closed with the muscles beautifully crumpled up.
“Lie down for me, and I’ll eat that fucking pretty pussy.” Without hesitation, you lay down, shifting your body so you can lie comfortably on the floor of the van.
When you do, his hands tug at the fabric around your waist, not pulling it off you, just clutching it like a vice. They slink under it, fingers tight on the waistband on your panties as he pulls them down your legs. As they leave your feet, pulling them around your heels, Eddie stares at the drenched middle, fingers playing with the thick slick that had gathered. Eddie seems to have a talent for stealing the air from your lungs, doing so as you watch him taste them. “Taste so fucking good, sweets.” He makes a show of placing them into his back pocket, shooting a wink when you give him a questioning look.
He adjusts himself onto his forearms, both hands landing on the top of your thighs as his head dives in between them. Your thigh muscles tense in his hold, begging him for mercy, any kind. “Eddie…please…I need…I need—”
He chuckles, bending over your wanton body. “I love how you say my name, but I’m gonna make you scream it.” He mutters, the scent of your arousal making his vision fizzle.
Finally, finally, his tongue touches you, relishing in the immediate whine that leaves your lips. He hums against you, enjoying the way your legs move restlessly. The first touches are so delicate, your heels digging in his (still) clothed back and grinding your hips to force more contact. “That’s a girl, take what you want from me.” He praises you, hand stroking your thigh gently.
The simple instruction drives your hips to grind more, Eddie’s tongue licking up your slick folds harder in response. At this point, fire isn’t a hot enough word to describe the heat in your pussy. Eddie starts to focus on your clit, his ears suddenly muffled by your thighs abruptly closing on his head. He starts a rhythm, switching back and forth, listening to how your sweet whines answer him.
Any thoughts occurring in your head are long gone, all out of your mouth before your brain even knows you’re thinking it. You wonder how you didn’t think of this, ‘how the first thing you thought when you saw Eddie not how good he would look between your legs’?
Answer: the best thing you’ve ever seen in your life. (Spoiler, there will be better things.)
Eddie is more than happy to play with you, to listen how you react to every touch he provides. So far, his favourite sound is when his tongue enters your sopping hole, fucking it gloriously. It was the first truly uninhibited sound he managed to pull from you. Every decision he made for you was purposeful, doing his damn best to send you over the edge again. He wonders how willing he is to put off his own pleasure for the sake of yours.
Honestly, to hear you come apart repeatedly is 1000% worth it to him, even if he has to rut against the floor of the van.
“Cl-close, Eddie.” You tell him, that sudden ending sneaking up on you. “So, so, so, so, good!”
Eddie takes your admission with pride, and as the stars invade your vision, your every limb tensing as you cum, he keeps going.
In your post orgasm haze, the over sensitivity of your pussy is overwhelming. However, his continuing and relentless mouth feels so good you relish in it, absolutely sure your legs will be sore from the constant convulsing. You whimper through a hushed and delayed swear, your hands weaving through his curls and tugging on his scalp.
His thumb meets your clit, rubbing feverishly and driving another orgasm out of you faster than you ever expected. His name is music to his ears as you shout it when the orgasm takes over you. “Fuck, Eddie, mouth feels…ah!”
His brown eyes open, nose nuzzling your clit as he stares at you through those darkened eyes. His tongue licks a long stripe, chin resting the mound of your pubic bone. “Think you can handle a few more?”
Your chest heaves, struggling to catch your breath as you lift your head up to face him.  Your head feels like a weight, too heavy on your neck. Your mouth opens to answer him, but the weight of your head wins, landing back on the van.
Eddie works your clit again, watching your breasts move up and down as you struggle to catch your breath. “Maybe not that many more, hmm? Maybe just one?” …if he’s strong enough to hold back from giving you two.
Stopping at this point would give you a break you need, but at the same time you can’t bear to, Eddie’s tongue acting as a siren’s song. You’re hypnotized by him. “More, please. Please keep going.”
“I love hearing your voice beg for me. Your whimpers are the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life, sweets.”
Eddie dives in again, your choked whimpers telling any near neighbors that you simply don’t remember they exist. They’re not important enough to care about anymore.
As much as you are sensitive to every single touch, even over-stimulated, you welcome the next three orgasms he gives you. At the end of your third, or sixth, orgasm, Eddie rests his chin on your mound again, staring up at you as you recollect yourself. He’s patient, watching the light making its way back into your eyes.
Eddie nearly asks you a question, when your hand reaches out to grab him by his leather collar. He lets out a yelp of surprise, his fully clothed form an odd juxtaposition against your completely naked one. Well, save for the dress still on your waist. Your lips meet, tongues gliding against each other beautifully, and you taste yourself in his mouth. Even with your brain as foggy as it is, your body feeling as weak as it does, the number one thing you can focus on is getting those clothes off him.
Your hands fidget on the harsh leather collar, forcing it off his back. “Take it off,” you tell him, Eddie grinning cheekily in response. As soon as his jacket is off, you feel the graphic shirt start to come off with it. The reveal of his patched treasure trail, his bare skin against yours a marvel of sensations. You become impatient, attempting to hurry the process of taking his shirt off.
A symphony of laughter leaves his lips as his shirt finally is tossed off to the side, watching your eyes marvel at his tattoo littered chest. Your tits pressed against him pulls a groan from his lips, a sound that drives your legs to tug his tented jeans down against your bare pussy. If you thought his tongue felt good, it’s nothing compared to his hips against yours.
His voice is strained, dripping in husk. “Sh-shit, doll. I-I need you. Need to feel that virgin pussy wrapped around my cock. Need it so bad, please.”
Eddie begging like this being such a turn on is a surprise, to say the least. And from the pleasure he gave you, you’re willing him to do whatever he wants to you.
Whatever. He wants.
“Really? You want me?” You ask, whining as he ruts again.
“Desperately.”
Your hand moves down to the button of his jeans, undoing it with shaky hands and even shakier breathing. “You gonna take my virginity, Eddie?”
Somehow you knew this would make him crazy. You enjoyed it, enjoyed the crazy, adored his moan in approval. “I’m gonna take you, baby.” He grunts, starting to move his jeans down his ass, legs, taking his briefs with them.
He’s quick about it, tongue against your skin as he grabs the dress around your waist and slowly drags it down your legs, tongue dragging down along with it. Slyly, he holds a condom from his pants pockets between two fingers. “You ready?”
You bite your lip, making the bottom lip swell from the constant fidgeting. “I’m on birth control…” you admit, only on it to regulate a heavy flow.
He makes a show of tossing the condom over his shoulder, grinning at his crazy eyes. “Well, shit, darling.” He leans in, feeling the size of him as it brushes against your hip. He’s big, right? “Before I enter that pussy, I need you to do me a favour.”
“Hmm?” You ask, the only thing in your mind is how good his bulge felt when it rutted up against your heat. If that felt that good? Sex with Eddie…your mind goes dizzy from the need.
Eddie takes your hand resting by your head, wrapping it around his hardened length. The moan that leaves his lips is deep and rough. Your unsure fingers allow him to assist you, getting a hold of the rhythm. When you do, he lets you take over, face falling in your neck when your grip tightens. “Okay, I can’t take it any longer.” He whispers, gentle, goosebumps erupting in their wake. “Here, help me, will you?”
You don’t ask, only because you don’t have the chance to, when his hips help you brush the head of his cock against your wet entrance. You tease the two of you simultaneously, brushing it numerous times, both of you gasping in harmony. “Oh, you little tease.”
His hand replaces yours, whining as the head finally, finally brushes into your entrance. “Eddie.” You whisper, clinging onto him desperately. “S-so, so, so full.”
“Yeah?” He asks, both winded by the feel of you and by the blissed look on your face. Maybe if he kisses the middle of your eyebrow enough, he can settle every wrinkle you demonstrate from the pain beautifully mixed with pleasure. “Look at you, so drunk on it, did you ever think a cock could make you feel this good? Ever think how much you could want to be fucked so desperately?”
You shake your head, drunk on his words, drunk on his cock. “More, please.”
“Think you can take it?”
You whine impatiently, legs attempting to pull him in harder. “Eddie.”
He smiles as you fall into his trap, pushing in more than he knows he should. He can’t help it, the smile that takes over your face is the perfect reward. “I thought you were shy?”
You roll your eyes, knowing when someone is this close to you, has seen this much of you, there is barely any time to be shy. “Shut up.”
He listens, kissing you deeply as his hips start to move. Your hand weaves itself into his hair, whimpering into his ear as he hits, deeper, harder.
You can’t fully understand the sounds coming out of his mouth, the once coherent, cocky sentences turn into mumbled groans, and it’s refreshing to know he seems to want you as you did him, craved for you the same way. A string of words on repeat come from your mouth, just his name.
The only thing you seem to be able to think of is Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, EddieEddieEddieEddie…
“God, your tight pussy, I’m gonna cum soon…” At least, that’s what you think he says. “Gonna fill you up…” You tighten around him, enjoying the prospect of it. “Gonna see it dripping out of you.”
He doesn’t know how it’s possible you tighten around him more.
“God, you take me so well, it’s like you were made for me, made for my cock.”
Head? Empty. Cunt? Full.
Him? Perfect.
“Fill me up, please.”
“Listen to those dirty little words, gonna turn you into a filthy whore.” He whispers, whining together with you in bliss as his hips rut a final, harsh, jagged time.
Time seems to be endless, as he whispers in your ear, hands on his broad back when he settles, keeping his cock warm. Time is so endless; you don’t even notice the movie turning off and the subtle turnover of engines and wheels driving off past the van.
It takes a poor teenage employee to knock on the van doors, politely asking if you could leave because the drive-in is closed, and they need to lock the gate.
To say the way you avoid their eyes after hurriedly putting your dress back on turns Eddie on would be an understatement.
To say when you waltz with him hand in hand down the hallways the next day turns into a sideshow, would be an even bigger understatement.
You sit on his lap during lunch, curious to the reaction of the other boys sitting with him. When Eddie slips his hand under your skirt and plays with your clothed cunt, he knows he’s just starting to corrupt you as you attempt to seem normal.
He’s just getting started.

Eddie and Nancy
Just giving my brain a break from the Secret Tunnel (aka the game show) story. I still have two chapters to get through and my brain needs a cool down.
I've seen a lot of headcanons that Eddie is the Wheeler children's older half brother because of how much they look like each other.
But may I propose instead: cousins.
Hear me out.
You have first born, Elizabeth. Absolute hippie child. All about that free love, sex, drugs, and rock and roll. She learns how to play guitar, falls in with the charming and cool, Al Munson. They plan to tour the country his beat up old truck. But before that can happen, Elizabeth gets pregnant with Eddie. So she marries Al.
Then you have Karen, the younger sister. Bright, demure, absolute golden child. She dyes her hair and blows out the curls to more like waves so she doesn't look like Elizabeth anymore.
She does what she was raised her whole life to do. Get married to a good boy so they can have good children and pay taxes and never do anything fun.
When Elizabeth dies, Karen refuses to go to the funeral, hates that her name is even in the obituary at all. Then three years later when Al is sent to prison, CPS calls her first.
She's the boy's aunt. She has a comfortable home, and bringing him in would barely dent their finances. But Karen refuses. She won't have that delinquent anywhere near her children.
So they go to Wayne. Wayne who really doesn't have the space or the money to take care a little boy almost teenager. But he looks into those big brown eyes and can't say no.
They keep apart until the murders in town start in Wayne's own god damn trailer. He keeps his mouth shut when Nancy comes up to him asking about Eddie. He would like to throw it in her face that he knows who she is and that he knows full well that Karen would throw a fucking fit if she found out where her daughter was. But he won't. It's not the girl's fault her mother is a bitch.
After Vecna (and Eddie NOT dying) Nancy is sent to the attic to see if she can find some of Mike's old things to donate as a lot of Nancy's went to Holly. She finds an old trunk and though locked it comes apart in her hands. In it she finds dozens of pictures of her mom with beautiful girl with flying dark brown curls and sparkling eyes.
She smiles as she reminds her of Eddie.
Her mother calls out for her to hurry and slips one of the pictures in her back jeans pocket. Nancy closes the trunk and hurries back to her mother.
Then because Nancy can't leave a mystery well enough alone, she goes digging. All while Eddie and Max are in a coma, Nancy works on her mystery.
She finds her answer in the most unlikely of places. Joyce Byers's year book. She had it out showing her boys the outrageous hair styles they had in her day.
There two rows down from Lawrence Byers is an Elizabeth Childress. She's got ribbons in her hair and smiling brightly at camera. So full of life.
Childress.
She closes her eyes. There is no doubt this is her mother's sister. A sister Nancy never knew anything about.
She points her out to Joyce. "Oh, I remember her. Such a sweet girl. It's really too bad she fell in with that Munson boy. Or rather the wrong Munson boy."
She flips the pages and on the same row as her, is Wayne Munson staring up at her. So happy and free. The Vietnam would too soon take that from him. "That's Wayne. Such a good boy. Elizabeth would have thrived with him. But Wayne was shy and more interested in getting good grades than girls."
Joyce flips back to the seniors with Jim and Lonnie and began searching for the M's. "There." She pointed at another boy. Alan Munson. "He was trouble from the moment he was born. But he had a motorcycle and a leather jacket. Lizzy fell hard. They got married right out of high school, I heard."
Jonathan and Nancy share a look of shock.
"What happened to her?" Jonathan asks.
"Cancer," Joyce says sadly, "poor thing."
Armed with her knowledge and a borrowed yearbook, Nancy marches right up to her mother and slams the yearbook in front of her. The picture Nancy took from the attic serves as bookmark and she shoves both at her mother.
There is no denying it now. All the proof is right there in black and white.
"This is why you didn't want to join the D&D club my freshman year, isn't it? Because it was Eddie's club?"
Karen buries her head in her hands. And the truth just starts spilling out.
"And that boy is just like his father!" Karen cries. "He might have not have killed those kids but he was a drug dealer."
"To keep the lights on his trailer!" Nancy yells back. "If you and Dad had taken him in maybe he wouldn't have turned out the way he did. Maybe he be a better person."
"Or maybe he would have dragged you other children with him!"
"If you really thought that Mike wouldn't have been allow in Hellfire either!"
It's at this point Mike walks in and suddenly Karen is caught.
She breaks down and explains that Eddie had helped her with her car right before Mike started high school. So as a way to return the favor she let Mike join.
Nancy heads to the hospital and manages to get into see Eddie.
Wayne tells her only family is allowed to see him and Nancy smiles.
She knows.
Then Eddie wakes up, falls for Steve, the whole party teases Steve about keeping it in the family and Karen gets her head out of her ass and everyone lives happily ever after.
The end.

Y'all don't know how important Mike calling Will every day while he was in California and never getting past the dial tone is to me. Like, I have this scene in mind where Mike just had a shit day. Max has completely pulled away from them, Lucas in spending all his time with his basketball people, Dustin is spending all his time with Steve or Eddie, Nancy is at the newspaper, Karen is with Holly, even if Ted was in the house it wouldn't matter because Ted wouldn't pay much attention to Mike anyways. He is completely alone, he has nobody and he just needs his best friend, his older brother figure, his girlfriend, his other mom, anybody. So he is sitting by the ponywall, shifting anxious as he dials the number, Nothing. He dials again, nothing, Again, nothing. Again, nothing, Again, nothing. His eyes get watery as he slips down the wall, head pressed against the cool paint. Again, nothing, again, nothing, again, nothing, again, nothing. He starts to sob, hand trembling but never missing a number from muscle memory.
He is surrounded by ideas, false prentices that his family is perfect, his life is perfect, but what made his life worth living his leaving him, some has already left. Again, nothing, and it's fault, or atleast he thinks it is. Again, nothing, again, nothing. It's really such a pretty house, the Wheeler home, objectively it's what everybody wants and needs, but it's not what Mike needs. The house is cold and dark, the only place that ever felt lived in, the basement, goes unused by everybody but him. The large room that was once full of life and friends is now empty, only used by the leader. He's a king with no kingdom, a paladin with nobody to lead. Again, nothing. Again, nothing. His DnD books gain dust, he just uses Eddie's, the ones he has are to full of painful memories. Again, nothing. He looks up to Eddie, really he does, he's exactly what he wants to be, confident, handsome, loud, proud, so unabashedly himself and people love him for it. If Mike was himself he'd be even more alone than he already is. again, nothing. He wishes he was closer to Eddie, however he seems fonder of Dustin. Which is fair, everybody he ever looked up to is fonder of Dustin. Nancy, Steve, Eddie, it's practically expected at this point. Hell, if he looked after himself, he'd be fonder of Dustin too....Again, nothing, it doesn't make it hurt any less.
Mike's stomach rolls as hot tears fall down his cheeks, Again, nothing. Time ticks past, the clock chimes louder in his ears has the cold press of the dial digs into his finger tips. Just once, just once, just once, he begs and please but nothing, it's always nothing. Heat boils in his veins. Best friend of thirteen years and can't even pick up the fucking phone? He's known the guys Brother for years and he can't pick up the phone? He practically lived in her house and kept her son safe she can't pick up the phone? He's her boyfriend and she can't even answer the fucking PHONE! He slams it against the receiver, dock shaking on the wall as his shoulder shake and chest heaves with heavy breathes. He curls into a ball, shivering and sniffling as his face gets irritated by his scratchy jeans. The sound of the dial tone mocking and grating. He's alone, his cries heard by nobody in a dark house, the savior never to be saved. Distantly, a clock chimed and blood is mistaken for snot that he wipes away without checking.

S5 predictions
-At the final episode, the party goes back to the local village with three waterfalls and mileven marry while Will watches sadly (if he’s even alive, perhaps he died fighting Vecna)
-Max comes back to life, but she comes back wrong. Her limbs have been replaced by robot parts by doctors and she’s now a cyborg
-Lucas jokes about her being C-3PO from Star Wars. Max shoots him with her laser arm and he dies
-Dustin starts wearing lipstick and it’s just never acknowledged. It’s red. Very red. Too red.
-Turns out Henry is possessed with an evil spirit sent by the Christian devil because his parents never loved him, and during the final fight El looks at him in the eye and says “hey🥺 this isn’t you🥺” and they hug and he becomes Henry again and he’s the best man at the mileven wedding
-Steve gets his ass beat, again
-Robin falls head over heels for Jonathan, who cheats on Nancy with her. Nancy is so mad than she grabs one of her guns and shoots them both
-Eddie comes back to life but he only speaks French now
-Will develops a crush on Steve and they are endgame
-Robin begins growing pumpkins
-Also Joyce and Robin kiss
-When hopper finds out he’s so mad he handcuffs Robin and refuses to leave her hands free, so she spends half a season completely free and in liberty but handcuffed
-Lucas’ ghost comes back to haunt the party after max killed him but not in a scary way. Neither a sad way. He’s just an inconvenience. He moves papers and cups to other places, he opens the door while Dustin is showering, he tugs at mike’s hair. He doesn’t do anything to Will tho and this pisses everyone off cause that’s just not fair.
-El is actually Henry’s daughter, el’s mom and him hooked up while he was in the lab.
-El grows her hair out and dyes it pink
-Mike grows a mustache
-Will hits the gym and gets jacked
-Max steals Robin’s pumpkins at night to leave them in mike’s room. Mike is so confused each morning, there’s always a new pumpkin.
-El and Steve share an emotional moment with an almost kiss but they are interrupted by Will
-Suzie is Russian and has been on it all along
-Argyle appears during the first episode and he’s driving the van. He’s supposed to drive Jonathan and will somewhere but before he arrives at their house a truck hits him and he goes flying and dies
-Will, despite being endgame with Steve, objects at the mileven wedding, and Nancy just shots him and they continue the wedding like nothing happened
-Robin and Steve get a new job at the arcade. They are eventually fired because they spend their shifts playing, and they are so bad but they keep playing anyway, and eventually they lose all their money and end up with 20k dollars in debt. A s5 subplot is them trying to break into the arcade at night and steal their money back from inside the machines. They fail
-Mr Clarke appears and has an affair with hopper
-Holly gets taken to the upside down cause she doesn’t know how to ride a bike yet, so she just goes walking through the forest and Vecna sees her and just snatches her.
-Surprise surprise, Karen knows how to use a gun and she’s the one to kill the evil spirit possessing Henry by shooting it
-Billy appears and Steve and him have some very homoerotic wrestling before El kills him just because. He was alive for 15 minutes. Also during all this he was a zombie
-Max’s mom actually works for the lab and was brenner’s ex
-The last scene of the whole show is Ted wheeler waking up on his armchair, having dreamt all the story

================
Eddie watches how Steve Harrington gets saddled with a child that isn't his.
The entire town knows what happened.
Steve Harrington dated Nancy Wheeler for a year, back in high school, until she made a fool out of him with Jonathan Byers.
And yet, here they were, seven years after the fact, with the eyes of the town on Wheeler dropping her firstborn onto her ex before fucking off to wherever she lived now.
So Eddie watched.
Harrington going to the store with the kid, buying groceries and looking like a fool while trying to buy baby shit he found on the aisle.
Harrington speaking with every mother in Hawkins, looking for advice from the fools who've done it before.
Harrington looking exhausted (and still as beautiful as ever), on his dead end job at family video, where he had raised into a management position.
Harrington on his door one afternoon, foolishly asking if he still sold drugs.
"I do. But don't you have a child now? Where are they?"
Harrington sighed, dragging a hand across his face.
"I asked Karen and the kids to babysit her, I- look, I'm tired. And I just wanted some weed, if you can't sell me that I'll just leave"
Eddie watched him while he spoke. Harrington DID look exhausted, like he'll kneel over the second he lets go, the second he leaves the tension drain of his body.
And Eddie wants to see that, he suddenly realizes, he wants to see Harrington at his most relaxed, without the stress he always seems to carry around, so he makes a choice.
============
Eddie watches Harring- Steve (he'd asked Eddie to call him that) relax on his bed, all loose limbs and hazy eyes, looking the most calm and pretty Eddie has ever seen him.
"I don't think I'm ready for this. Aileen deserves better than a twenty-something fool taking care of her instead of her mom"
Eddie startles, they've been quiet this whole time, but Steve talks, undeterred, about his kid.
"But Nancy didn't want her, you know? So she called me, because she remembered some dumb shit I told her the last time we met and gave her to me."
Stevie is crying now, still beautiful, looking entirely like the fool he is while his haze is stuck on the ceiling and the words keep slipping out.
"And I wasn't ready, but I just couldn't leave her, I didn't want her to be like me"
Eddie reaches out, sweeping the tears out of Stevie's face.
"It was hard, wasn't it? It's okay sweetheart, I've got you"
Those big, beautiful sad eyes stare at him.
"You promise?"
"I promise"
Stevie is a fool, yet Eddie still finds him lovely.

This is a crack post. Read until the end. Karen Wheeler noticed that Steve matured quite a bit when she saw him after his 20th birthday, and she just divorced Ted. Imagine Nancy coming home one weekend from college, not knowing what day it was, and hoping her mother would do her laundry when she finds Steve in bed with her mother.
"Steve?! What the hell are you doing?" Nancy exclaimed, horrified.
"Your mother, apparently," Steve said, and Karen. "We wanted to give her a happy Mother's Day."
"It's Mother's Day?" Nancy asked.
"Not until Sunday, but we're celebrating early," Eddie said, coming out of the bathroom. "Isn't that right, mommy?"
Nancy screamed and stormed out of the room.
"You're right, that was funny," Karen laughed.
"Serves her right," Steve scowled as he was about to get out of bed. "Mother's Day was a couple of weeks ago."
"And you boys were so sweet, delivering flowers to all the mothers in the Party,' Karen said, and then they heard Mike coming in. "Mike's home. Eddie, dear, can you go back in the bathroom again?"
"Damn, he forgot, too?" Eddie asked. "Maybe we should tell him that we made you a mommy again."
"We don't want to kill him," Karen laughed, and Eddie went back into the bathroom.
"Oh my God, Mom!"
Yeah, it was all a joke.

If I Should Stay
More housekeeping! I was wrong about the date last time. My hiatus isn’t starting on the 15th; it’s starting on the 13th, possibly a bit earlier. But I’ll see y’all a little less than a month after that!
Part 1 | . . . | Part 38 | Part 39 | Part 40
“Vecna’s got my sister,” Steve whispers into the line, and Robin knows immediately that this time, this next fight with Vecna, is going to be very different.
She’s not going to let two of his atoms touch after what he’s done.
“Okay,” she answers, mind going a million miles an hour. “We know how to fix this, Steve, but you need to focus. Can you focus?”
He takes a deep breath. “Yeah,” he murmurs. “Yeah, I can focus.”
“Okay. We need her favorite song.”
“I don’t know her favorite song.”
“Then you need to find someone who does.”
The line is silent for a minute, then Steve gasps. “Cassidy! She’d know.”
“Okay, that’s perfect. Call Cassidy, ask her what Allison’s favorite song is. I’m going to pick up El and we’ll be there as soon as we can, okay?”
“Okay,” Steve says. “Hurry?”
“As fast as I can,” she promises. “Call Cassidy.”
They hang up, and Robin eyes Wayne, who’s already waiting by the door with his truck keys. “I’m gathering this is an emergency.”
“If it wouldn’t be entirely weird, I would kiss you,” Robin informs him, because she barely has a filter at the best of times, and this is definitely not the best of times.
Thankfully, Wayne just laughs. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” he says. “Toss your bike in the back and get in. I’ll need directions.”
Robin worries her lip. “Y’know the Wheelers’ place?”
“Karen?”
“Yeah. There first, please.”
Wayne offers her a teasing salute as he puts the car into drive, and Robin suddenly thinks this all might just work out.
The drive to the Wheelers’ is uneventful, and she hops out of the truck and pounds on the door. Karen opens it, and Robin grits her teeth. “Hi, Mrs. Wheeler,” she says politely. “Is Nancy home?”
“Oh, yes, of course, come in,” she says, ushering her inside before calling for Nancy.
Robin watches as Nancy makes it halfway downstairs before she sees who’s here. She watches as she goes through all the possibilities. “Hey, Robin, you’re here for the project, right?”
“Yup,” Robin nods. “For, uh. School.”
Nancy blinks. “Right,” she says, casting a glance at her mom, who doesn’t notice. “C’mon up.”
Robin hesitates. “Think we could use the basement?”
Nancy’s eyes flash. “Sure,” she says, and they’re halfway down before she speaks again. “What’s going on?”
“Vecna has Allison. We need El.”
Nancy bites back a curse.
They finally make it down, and El is standing in the middle of the room, waiting for them. “It is time.”
“It is,” Robin nods. “Are you ready?”
Eleven shrugs. “Is anyone?”
Robin gives half a laugh. “I guess not.” She turns to Nancy. “Is there an exit that doesn’t go through the house?”
Nancy nods and leads them out. “I’ll get everyone else,” she says. “Meet you back there as soon as we can. Be safe.”
“You too,” Robin says, grabbing El’s hand and running for Wayne’s truck.
“Where to?” Wayne asks.
“The Harrington place. Will you come inside?”
“All due respect, Robin, but my boy’s in there. There ain’t no way in hell I’m leavin’ him alone.” There’s a slight pause before he says, rather uncomfortably, “Not because I don’t trust you, of course-”
“No, of course not,” Robin waves him off.
“And, uh.” He winks at El. “You’ll have to pardon my French, little lady.”
She giggles at him. “But you weren’t speaking any French!”
Wayne chuckles. “No I wasn’t, and a smart one you are for knowin’ that. No, pardon my French just means excuse my potty mouth.”
El turns to Robin, who says, deadpan, “He means ‘cause he said hell.”
“Oh,” El says, as Wayne splutters but ultimately stays quiet.
Soon enough they’re at the Harrington place, and Wayne barely parks the truck before they’re all running in.
Robin stops him just before they get inside. “Did Eddie explain any of this to you?”
Wayne blinks at her. “No.”
“Shit,” she whispers. “Okay, look, long story short, which I’m kinda really terrible at, like worst person ever, like I can’t tell a short story to save my life-”
“Robin.”
“Right, short story, right. Um, we’ll explain more later, but basically me and Steve are time traveling here from four years in the future because there’s a wizard guy- well he’s not a wizard, actually, it’s Henry Creel, but anyways things happen and he’s got powers and he’s like a wizard and he’s trying to get control of peoples’ heads and kill them. And he’s trying it with Steve’s sister, Allison, right now. So… that’s what we’re about to walk into.”
Wayne sighs. “Is there anythin’ for me to shoot at?”
Robin blinks. “Well, no. Not right now, at least. But later there could be. If you want to be involved.”
“I ain’t lettin’ y’all do this while I sit by and do nothin’. That ain’t how I was raised.”
Robin stares at him for a beat, nods, and together they run inside.

intrada (sugar plum holly and her cavalier)
Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson; Steve Harrington & Holly Wheeler; Past Steve Harrington/Nancy Wheeler WC: 5708 | G | Tags/Themes: ballet, references to The Nutcracker, pre-relationship steddie, good babysitter Steve Harrington AO3
It was supposed to be a date that would merge their interests, something that had seemed classy enough for Nancy and athletic enough that Steve thought it would keep his interest. Supposed to be, in that when Steve had gotten the tickets -- begged his mom first for her and his dad’s season ticket seats and then for help finding a good seat when she said she wasn’t about to waste a sixty dollar ticket on a date -- he wasn’t even sure if it was the kind of thing Nancy would like. A year and a half into their relationship and he was only just realizing how surface level their conversations were, either talking about work or treating every conversation like an interview and parceling out information like they were afraid to reveal too much about themselves. So he was really working off of a jewelry box he vaguely remembered from her bedroom when he bought tickets for a ballet that wouldn’t even happen for another five months.
He wanted to have them when she got to Indianapolis, something to look forward to for their first Christmas together in the city. The Nutcracker, a classic supposedly but if anyone would know its cultural significance he figured it would be Nance.
And Steve isn’t an idiot, okay. He knows that Nancy isn’t exactly thrilled to be in Indianapolis, knows that she’s not happy to be at her safety school and not Emerson. Imagines having to wait to see if she made it up the waitlist all summer wasn’t the greatest experience; and he has to imagine because any time he wanted to talk to her about it she blew him off to focus on alternatives and next steps.
That’s why he does it. Hopes that having something to look forward to at the end of her first semester will help. Hopes that this is the first of many Christmases together, maybe a tradition that they can keep up. Going to the ballet together every year until eventually they’re bringing their daughter along with them. Maybe it’s too early to think about kids, but this is the kind of future he prefers to imagine over future careers and what he’s going to do with the degree he’s stumbling his way through. So he thinks about Nancy with pinned back curls in a nice dress humming along to songs they hear every year.
It was supposed to be that. Until it turns out that their relationship really couldn’t withstand being in the same city as one another. Until he’s forced to confront the hindsight that they never really talked about anything significant in the year they were doing long distance. Until Nancy tells him that she’s transferring next semester, and she isn’t interested in doing long distance; that she isn’t interested in continuing their relationship at all.
So Steve resigns himself to just being out the money for the two tickets. It’s not like he’s going to go to a ballet by himself, and it seems shitty to bring another girl to something that he imagined becoming a staple of his romantic future with Nancy. It’s not the first time Steve has cut his losses. (But he’ll die before he tells his mom she was right about not giving him her good seats.)
He honestly kind of forgets about the whole thing. Finals week has just ended. He’s pretty sure he flunked the one actual business course he took this semester to keep his dad happy, and he’s trying to figure out if he can change his major without screwing his whole life up. He’s ready to have a few weeks off.
Then Karen Wheeler calls.
Karen is a nice lady, though if he’s honest he’s not that upset that she isn’t going to be his future mother-in-law. She’s a little… flighty, as his mother would say with a backhanded smile. He privately thinks she sometimes forgets that she has three kids, losing track of one or the other at any given time. So maybe he shouldn’t be too surprised when she calls him two months after her daughter broke his heart begging him to take Holly to the ballet.
“Nancy mentioned it off hand months ago, and Holly hasn’t stopped talking about it since. I know it’s a big ask,” she had said in a tone that made it very clear she didn’t entirely care and would think poorly of him if he answered the wrong way, “but if you still have those tickets it would mean the world if you could take Holly.” He hadn’t missed the emphasis on the you either. Clearly Karen had no interest in making the trip to Indianapolis and he hadn’t needed to ask about Ted.
He didn't think of himself as a pushover, but he did think of little, blonde, six year old Holly: too quiet and too shy for her age. Fighting to be seen by a negligent dad and a mom who loves her children, but cares about appearances just enough to be blind. And he finds himself saying, “It’s no trouble, Mrs. Wheeler, but could you meet me somewhere halfway?”
It’s not until they’re settled into their seats -- on the floor but in the back, a booth behind them occupied by a pretty boy in a headset that Steve refuses to look at for too long -- that he realizes that he has no idea what this show is even about. Holly has been quiet since he picked her up, the least surprising thing about this trip right above Mike glaring at him from the passenger seat of Karen’s car as he moved Holly’s booster seat, but she’s studiously flipping through the little booklet the usher handed them on their way to their seats.
“Thank you for bringing me, Steve. I’m sorry Nancy didn’t want to come.” It is somehow simultaneously the longest and worst thing Holly has ever said to him.
“I’d rather see it with you, Holly Jolly.”
He’s saved from having to find anything else to say by the lights around them dimming, a prerecorded voice letting them know that any photography is forbidden and to expect a fifteen minute intermission, a bright and bouncing song picks up once the talking stops. He relaxes in his seat a little, relieved to get a few minutes before he’s expected to entertain a six year old that he’s spent more time with today than he had the entire time he and Nancy had dated.
Now Steve, contrary to what he very much knows is the popular opinion, isn’t just a jock. He knows there’s no talking in ballet. He’s even been to one before this, when he was still a cute novelty in his suit and bowtie accompanying his parents to the theater. What he is, according to his old nanny, every teacher he’s ever had, and about half of his exes, is a selective listener.
It’s not his fault though that his brain instinctively cues into different sounds. The buzz of the light above him louder -- and more interesting -- than a lesson on factorials. The sound of someone’s relationship imploding hard to tune out no matter how interested he is in his own conversation. So of course the sound of someone talking cuts straight through classical music.
“Someone remind David he needs to smile at his partner, he looks like he’s dreaming of a murder suicide.”
And it wasn’t hard to find exactly who the voice behind him was talking about. The only frowning face at this Victorian party who was glaring daggers at the magician who was bringing in new dancers.
“Well he should know better than to sleep around the cast shouldn’t he, Birdie?”
A practiced reader of body language, Steve could almost see, underneath the choreography, the traces of impropriety. David’s undisguised glare. The wistful way the woman in blue tracked him around the stage. The woman in pink who mooned at the woman in blue. It made him wonder what kind of things were going on backstage.
He expects that to be in. He doesn’t really do theater much, too many memories of pinched arms and snarling trips home, but he does remember the one rule is no talking. But it doesn’t stop, barely slows.
“If Mark sets himself on fire doing this stupid firepaper magic shit do we get to go home early?
“Sure, Robbie Bobby, I’ll swap out for the Rat King last show of the run. Jay can do my job and I’ll do his.
“Five bucks someone slips on the snow as they exit.”
He wants to know if that stranger wins the bet but the curtain closes and Holly is shy and asking Steve where the bathroom is. So instead of working up the nerve to turn and talk to the man behind him, he’s smiling his best mom-charming smile and asking the first woman with kids he finds to take his guest into the girl’s room.
By the time she’s out of line, and Steve buys her the doll and the novelty sucker she’d been pretending she wasn’t looking at, they slip back into their seats as the lights dim again. No chance to make his own witty jokes or observations, break the ice and show off some of the Harrington charm.
The first dance goes by with little fanfare and Steve’s almost disappointed. Holly is wiggling excitedly in her seat next to him, clutching her own little nutcracker, and he’s not even paying attention to the stupid show that’s got her so excited because he’s too focused on a snarky stranger he’d only even looked at once.
“Jeezus christ, is Tom stuffing his dance belt? That’s some Bowie level shit happening up there.”
He had almost given up, so it figures the guy decides to speak up once Steve’s attention started to shift back to the stage. He nearly chokes on his own tongue, eyes darting straight down to the issue in question. Holly, the sweetest kid he’s ever met, pats his back softly, hesitantly, like she’s only seen the gesture before. “There’s a water fountain by the bathroom,” she tells him in a library whisper, “I can stay here and not move.”
“I’m okay Hols,” he lies, ignoring the itchy, squeezing feeling at the back of his throat and forcing the cough away.
It’s easy to do when there's something else to focus on, “No, Lizzie, I’m not going to shut up. No one cares if I’m occupying the channel.” The stranger seems to be gearing himself up for a monologue, “I’m not going to miss my cue, I am the cue. Robin’s not going to miss her cue  because it’s to music. Her cue doesn’t exist without me and she knows all of these songs and what note her cue goes with because it’s the eighth fucking time we’ve done it this week. If you or props have something you’ve got to say clearly you can get a word in edgewise.”
A few numbers go by after that, quiet except for the occasional professional, “Light cue, go.”
And then a song he actually sort of recognizes starts. A pretty strawberry blonde with a dainty smile tip toes and spins across the stage to plucked strings. Holly is enchanted, perched at the edge of her seat she reaches a hand over to clutch at Steve’s sleeve. A ‘tell me someone in the world is experiencing this moment with me’ sort of gesture. Awestruck and world rocked, stars in her eyes. Any resentment, any hard feelings that might have still lingered at babysitting evaporated. He got to be the person that let Holly experience this. A moment just for her, no family to take second place for.
The dancer on stage spins, clearing the floor in a series of tight, controlled rotations. Her arms guiding each step, swinging out and pulling her in, the driving force of her momentum. She’s moving fast, it’s an impressive display. Something shoots off in the opposite direction of that controlled turn, almost distracting in its break from that clean motion.
“Tell Props Chris just lost an earring.
“Fine, tell Wardrobe then.
“I’m not being a creep, I know she’s your girlfriend, Birdie. I merely observed her earring launching across the stage like an arrow from an elven bow.”
It’s like catching half of an Abbott and Costello act, like who’s on first being done through a telephone. It’s a strange sort of connection, listening in on a conversation that isn’t meant for him. He thinks for a sad second that he hasn’t ever had a friendship like this.
The show is wrapping up, dancers from scenes past making their way through for quick appearances. Holly is vibrating in her seat. Dancers in intricate costumes glide across the stage to bow toward the petite dancer in the nightgown and the strawberry blonde, Chris, beside her. A few moments later it's finished, the lights rising up around them and he shifts his primary focus back to Holly.
In the middle of the room, they had the best view of the stage and the longest wait to leave. Steve tries to be subtle as he shifts Holly in front of him, afraid of losing her if she's out of his eyeline. He doesn't want to baby her by making her hold his hand. She's wiggling in place, but she keeps herself small. Careful not to bump into the people slowly moving out of the aisle in front of them.
“Hols,” he starts to whisper, not wanting to embarrass her before he asks if she needs to hit the bathroom again.
But she grabs his sleeve in a child's iron grip,  "Steve, I want to meet the princess."
It turns out, it's hard to find a way to tell an excited kid that there aren't meet and greets after a show like this. Pleading blue eyes and a nervous smile looking up at him, desperate but scared to ask for too much. The least he can do is try.
The guy behind them is still there.
The back of their line, Steve isn't holding anyone up by taking a minute to look. He's lithe, all in black. Hair pulled up in a half-assed bun, a headset tangled in the curls. He's wrapping up a thick cord, Steve couldn't guess why, but it draws focus to a toned arm that he's curling it around.
“Hey man,” the booth is a little bit above them, forcing Steve to rise up on the tips of his own toes to make sure he's visible, “I know you're working but I wanted to ask. The girl at the end- I, uh, I overheard you say she's your friend's girlfriend is there anyway you could convince her to come meet us.”
The guy startled a bit, probably surprised at being addressed. If he’s embarrassed at being overheard it barely shows a soft flush that could be from the warmth of the room. "The girl at the end?”
"The princess,” Holly shouts, bouncing up and down to try to see over the lip that blocks her view of the booth.
A change falls over the guy, his smile softens and eyes widen. He carefully drapes himself across the board of buttons and sliders to look Holly in the eyes. "Oh she's even better than a princess, she's a fairy. The sugar plum fairy. Is this your first time seeing the show with your dad?”
“Steve's not my dad.” She tells him with a little giggle, no doubt comparing Steve and Ted in her brain.
“Holly is my ex-girlfriend’s little sister.” He places his emphasis carefully.
“There’s a lot happening in that sentence.”
“Yeah.”
“Well, my Lady Holly, I bet I could convince Chrissy to meet a fan.” He promises with a flourish, “As long as your companion doesn't care that her faithful company will definitely be there the whole time.”
“Are you part of the group?” Steve asks, confident enough in his read of the situation to lay on a bit of charm. Letting his eyes trail down the sprawl of the guy's back. A thrill of victory at the little nod he gets back. “Then I won't mind at all.”
“Rockin’ Robin, tell me you still have your headset on?” He directs into his headset, “Great, remember that favor you and Chris owe me? I've got a fair princess who would like to meet our dear Sugar Plum Fairy.”
There's a lengthy pause. Even without the music playing the response is too quiet to be made out through his headset. “I don't see how that's relevant.” He hisses, “and she didn't ask to see an awful hag so you don't really even need to be there.”
His face clears after a second, looking to Steve like he wants them both to pretend that the earlier conversation hadn't been overheard. “Go through that door at the end of the front row right beside the stage.” The auditorium has cleared out enough he's got a clear view of the door the guy points to. “You'll end up in a hallway with a locked door at the end, wait there.”
“And if someone asks us why we're waiting there?” Steve asks, “I can tell them..?”
“Eddie, I'm- I Eddie Munson told you to wait there, if someone stops you before I get there.”
It's hard not to grin now that he has a name, Eddie, so he doesn’t bother. He puts on his best smile, the boyish and winsome one that always flusters whoever it's directed at, at least a little. Eddie is no exception looking back down at his work quickly. Steve takes a little pity, turning his attention back down to Holly.
She's twisting in place, hands clasped in front of her, as she stares off into space. He feels bad immediately, too familiar with what it's like to be a kid forced to entertain yourself while adults talk above your head.“C’mon, Holly Jolly, let's go wait for your fairy.”
She takes his hand the second it's offered, swinging it back and forth, humming one of the songs from the show. “Steve, do you think she's a fairy like Tinkerbell or a fairy princess like Barbie?”
“I don't know Hols, what do you think?”
“Tinkerbell is kinda mean to Wendy, but she can do magic and fly. But Barbie is really nice so if she were a fairy she'd be a fairy princess and have a crown and help people.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes! And this fairy looked nice when she was dancing, but it didn't look like she had a crown. Can you be a fairy princess without a crown?”
Holly was buzzing, bouncing in place, clearly over whatever earlier nerves she'd had about talking to him. With her back to the door that they were told to wait by, she’s started listing all the different jobs Barbie has had and why they should make a fairy princess doll -- Karen’s homemade Barbie clothes, he learns, are not as well made as the hand me downs from Erica and Mrs. Sinclair, so she needs the real thing. Holly misses the way the door creaks open, the woman from onstage inching her way out of the half opened exit.
Chrissy presses a finger to her lips, happy to help her surprise Holly, Steve keeps listening to her talk about why there should be a Barbie movie. He only nearly ruins the surprise when the dancer pushes down on the front of her saucer like skirt and it smacks her in the back as it flies up, letting her exit the back room.
Focused on her story, Holly doesn’t notice as the woman crouches down beside her. Not until she says, “This must be the princess I was told about.”
The screech she lets out is so joyful he almost doesn’t mind that his ears are ringing. Steve finds his smile mirrored on a freckle-faced girl dressed in the same all black as Eddie who is sliding out the door now as well. She sidles up to Steve, letting Holly have her moment with the fairy uninterrupted. “And you must be the prince charming.”
“Shut up, shut up,” Eddie pants, coming to a bent over rest beside Steve, “whatever she’s saying ignore it. Fuck.”
“You jogged like twenty feet,” the girl says, clearly unimpressed.
“Sorry Nancy Reagan, I say yes every time.”
“There are children present, have some class, Munson.”
The child in question could be on another planet, that’s how much she’s aware of their existence, Steve thinks.
“I have class every Monday, Wednesday, Friday; Saturdays are fair game.”
“Oh! That’s why you look so familiar,” the girl says, she’s looking at Steve now but he’s not really sure why. “We were in the same Communications and Public Speaking class, Prince Charming. Steve, right?”
He did have that class last semester, the only one technically tied to the business major his dad wanted him to have that he actually passed. “I, yes- sorry I don’t. I spent most of that class zoned out waiting for my turn to speak.”
“No, yeah, I figured. You sat a row in front of me and always looked shocked when you got called on, then you’d brush your bagel crumbs all over the floor when you’d go to speak.”
“Yeah,” he agrees, not really sure what to say to that especially not when it’s being said right in front of a guy he was kind of into.
“Birdie holds the strangest grudges in the history of the world, take it as a sign of respect, Big Boy. She hated me for half of our music theory class because my handwriting didn’t look like it matched my general demeanor.”
“No, I hated you because you always smell like weed and never do the homework but somehow are still the professor’s favorite. And I still hate you for all of those things, but your unfortunate personality grew like mold on my girl- I mean grew on,” her face takes on a look of panic as she pivots her word choice. It’s confusing, at first, until he realizes he’s the source of panic. A familiar joke made with a friend, forgetting the new, possibly untrustworthy stranger until too late.
The siren song of new friends and a possible date is alluring, but with Holly in the room he does have to be careful of what gets back to her parents. He remembers Ted’s political alignments and gossip tends to reach his parents faster than he can. So he does his best at assurance, “Chrissy, right, she seems cool. It was nice of you guys to do this, Holly is probably only a little bit more into fairies than I am.”
Eddie sputters beside him, hard to tell if it’s a good sign or if Steve has just royally fucked up his chances at anything; but if it means easing Robin’s fears of queerbashing he’ll ruin his chance for a date every time.
“Into fairies,” Robin asks, nodding over to Chrissy, who’s showing Holly how she balances on the tips of her toes, “or…”
“I’m light in my loafers, or half, light in one-”
“Ex-girlfriend,” Eddie supplies.
“Right.”
“Worst way anyone has ever described being bisexual,” Robin says.
“Sounds like a challenge,” Eddie says.
“It was not.”
“I really appreciate this,” Steve says again to avoid the argument. Chrissy is helping Holly spin around on the toes of her patent leather mary janes, she’s giggling as Chrissy holds her pointed finger helping her twirl and twirl. “How’d you all get involved in all this? You’re still in school.”
“They always need a little help around the holidays, normally the theater kids get first dibs but there’s only like five tech kids and they’re all working the school show so the music department gets next go.” Robin explains.
“Chis is a prodigy so she put in a word for us specifically,” Eddie adds. Before he leers and leans deep into Steve’s space, it’s not an unwelcome move. “Unless that was you fishing for friends, Big Boy. Trying to figure out if you’ll see us on campus?”
“Oh,” Robin exclaims, like the thought had never occurred to her. “Are you finished with your gen eds? Wait, what's your major? Eddie, show off your party trick.”
He isn’t a total loser, so he doesn’t fidget or blush as Eddie runs his heady brown eyes up and down the length of him, taking him in. “Business and Marketing,” he declares after a second, but he doesn’t sound sold on it.
“I’ve been thinking about changing it,” Steve isn’t sure if he’s admitting Eddie’s right or just trying out what it sounds like to admit that he’s sick of being everything he’s supposed to be instead of what he likes. “I took Children’s Psychology for the whatever requirement and it was a million times more interesting than Intro to Econ.”
It feels like it’s going well. When Nancy broke things off Steve had resigned himself to finishing out college without any real friends, dating around and hoping for something that stuck. Here with these people, he can feel something starting. He wants to take that feeling and capitalize on it, follow through on something so another good thing doesn’t slip away from him.
That’s not the kind of luck that he has though.
“Steve,” Holly buzzes, grabbing his hand with no hesitation, “Fairy Chrissy said that I can be a dancer too! Can Santa bring me shoes like hers?”
Christmas is a week away, if Stever were guessing, he’d say the Wheelers have had Holly’s presents picked out and put away for most of the month. “I don’t know, Hols, Christmas is pretty close and the North Pole is pretty far. Do you think the mailman would have time to get all the way up there?”
Her shoulders slump, making Steve immediately feel like the worst person in the universe for crushing her dreams. “He's watching though, so I bet he saw you ask right now,” he does his best to smile, hoping it's comforting since it feels tight-lipped and desperate.
“Yeah!” She brightens, starts to hum along to the song just a little off pitch, getting more excited as she goes until she's murmuring, “Knows if you've been bad or good.”
“Hey Holly Jolly, why don't you tell Fairy Chrissy bye and thank you. We don't wanna be late to meet your mom.”
She's still singing but she nods, turning and shuffling back to Chrissy, still a few steps away.
“Would she know where to get those, Chrissy, the shoes that Holly would need?” He asks Eddie and Robin in a whisper, hoping Holly is distracted enough by her goodbyes that she won't hear.
“Are you..?” Eddie asks, a blush staining the tops of his exposed ears. “Ex-girlfriend?”
The emphasis catches his attention and, yeah, he can see how that looks. “Her parents aren't going to drive up to the city before Christmas, but the town over does lessons.” Barriers to entry, that's what his marketing classes called it, maybe he did learn something. He wants to make it as easy as possible for Holly to get what she wants. “She's a good kid, she should get what she wants for Christmas.”
That blush spreads, bleeding down from his ears across his cheeks. “You're a good dude.”
“Steve, I said bye. Do we have to leave now?” Holly asks.
“Let me say bye too, Hols, and we'll grab a treat before we meet your Mom.”
There's a pen tucked behind Robin's ear that he snags before he can second guess what he's about to do. Grabbing her arm first, he scrawls his number across it. “I've got a place off campus, no roommates if you ever want someplace to hangout or to study,” he tells her.
He grabs Eddie's hand next, rubbing his thumb along the palm and slowly writing the same number on his arm too. Keeping a hold of his hand for as long as he can. “I've got a place off campus, no roommates, if you ever want to come by and do something, have dinner?” He'll start there, let his interest be noted, and hope that Eddie is the type to like guys who dive in head first heedless of the water below.
Steve can already imagine a future where he's sneaking into the booth with Eddie. Watching shows he's never heard of before with a warm commentary murmured into his ear. Gossip and behind the scenes rumor, distracting him from a plot that's less important than the company. Maybe next year, after double dates and a growing closeness, he'll be able to sneak Holly backstage and she can meet other dancers too.
Maybe next year, he'll be convincing Eddie, and the girls he hopes will be his new friends, to drive down to Hawkins with him to watch Holly do jumps and spins of her own in their small town showcase. Eddie was good with Holly, Steve hopes it isn't a fluke, he's always wanted kids.
He's probably getting ahead of himself. Falling into the same trap he'd built with Nancy that had gotten him here in the first place. The romantic in him wants to spin this all as fate, it could be true after all.
Steve takes Holly's hand, they both wave goodbye, and leave the empty arts center. The winter sky is lit up by a full moon, fat snowflakes slowly float down to the ground beside them as they head back to his car, and for the first time since Nancy broke up with him he feels good about the future.
It's a long drive back to the McDonalds where he's meeting Karen, with Holly already dozing in the back seat, it's time that he can sit and be happy. Regardless of whether there's a message blinking on his machine to welcome him back home or not; what was supposed to be a relationship compromise ended up being the most fun he's had in weeks. So maybe Chrissy will tell him where to get Holly's shoes, maybe Robin will invite him for coffee or swing by to compare classes, and -- if he's really lucky -- maybe Eddie will invite himself over for dinner.
But, as he hums along to the waltz whose melody lingers in the back of his mind, the possibilities are something to look forward to.

The One With Mother’s Day
Eddie trips out of his room, rubbing at his eyes, to answer the door. Someone choosing nine in the morning on a Sunday to knock very loudly on their front door.
“Yeah,” he says blearily as the door swings open.
“Eddie, it’s so nice to see you again.” Karen Wheeler says from the other side of the door. “I remember Nancy saying that you moved in with her about a year ago.”
Eddie tries to blink the tired away. “Mrs. Wheeler, hello. Sorry, I didn’t know you were coming to visit.” He steps out of the way so she can enter the apartment.
She walks in and stands awkwardly in the walkway between the kitchen and the living room. “Well, I didn’t know I was coming here until this morning. Is Nancy home?”
“You drove all the way from Indiana to here, that’s quite the trip. And yeah, she’s probably up, hold on a second.”
“Well, it’s been forever since I visited Nancy, and I thought since it’s Mother’s Day, I might spend the day with my daughter. My other kids are either too busy with school or too far to drive so suddenly.”
“Yeah, uh huh,” Eddie mutters as he knocks on Nancy’s door. “Hey, Nance, you up?”
“Yeah, what’s up?”
Eddie looks back at Karen with a polite smile. “Could I come in for a second?”
“Sure,” Nancy responds suspiciously.
Eddie quickly opens and shuts the door behind him. “Your mother’s here.”
Nancy sits straighter in the chair by her window. Shutting her book and placing it on the small table beside her. “What. She didn’t tell me she was coming.”
“She apparently didn’t even know she was coming until this morning. It’s at least a five-hour drive from home.”
“She got up at four in the morning just to come visit me. Why?”
Eddie shrugs. “Something about Mother’s Day and her other kids being too busy or something. I don’t know. She looked, ok? Like every other time I’ve seen her. But like, with that crazed fluster she would get when Mike’s friends were over, and your dad refused to get off of that lazy boy he had.”
Nancy rolls her eyes. “This could go one of two ways, and I’m not sure either of them will be good.”
She gets up and heads to the living room. Where her mother still stands, hands rubbing together anxiously. “Nancy, I’m sorry to show up out of the blue, I didn’t want to wake you up in the middle of the night with a phone call.”
“That’s ok,” Nancy says with a partially fake smile, giving her mom a hug. “Eddie said you just drove here this morning, you must have left pretty early.”
Karen shrugs. “Yeah, well, you leave early enough, you miss all of the traffic. And the highways are so nice to drive on when no ones around. But, anyway, how are you doing, it’s been a while since we talked.”
“Pretty good. Just working a lot, trying to be able to write something other than stupid tabloids and junk articles. But mom-.”
Eddie groans in the kitchen, opening the empty coffee container. “I’m going to rob Steve and Robin’s for coffee.”
“Ok,” Nancy replies as he shuts the door.
“Steve and Robin still live across the hall,” Karen smiles. “That’s so nice. Do Jonathan and his college friend still live across the street?”
“Argyle,” she reminds. “And yes, they do. Mom-.”
Karen claps her hands. “Oh, I am starving. Why don’t we go out to breakfast? You know, catch up, my treat.”
“It’s Mother’s Day, shouldn’t it be my treat?” Nancy eyes her mother skeptically. Wondering why she really showed up out of nowhere. Got up in the middle of the night just to have a surprise visit.
“Just spending the day with me would be a treat. Go on, get ready, I’ll just wait out here.”
Nancy nods and returns to her room.
-
When Eddie uses his spare key to go into Steve and Robin’s apartment, he expects them both to be asleep. Robin never gets up before noon if she doesn’t have to, and Steve always has the weekends off, so he should be relaxing. Instead, Steve’s sitting in the kitchen, phone pressed to his ear and fingers pinching his nose, pushing his glasses up to his forehead. He barely notices when Eddie enters the apartment.
“No mom, I haven’t seen her since college.” Steve sounds utterly exhausted. “Because we never really talked then either other than that time you came to visit me. Maybe because I’m happy being single. It’s a perfectly respectable job, and I love it. I didn’t want to work with dad.” He sighs as his mom drones on about something. “I didn’t call for this, I called to wish you a happy Mother’s Day. You know, it’s late where you are so how about I let you go. Love you.”
Steve hangs up the phone, placing it face down on the table and letting his head fall into his hands. He stays like that, frozen.
“That didn’t sound fun,” Eddie breaks the silence. Spooning a serving of coffee into a plastic bag.
Steve huffs out a laugh, fixing the glasses on his face and sitting back on the chair. Crossing his arms and shaking his head, avoiding eye contact. “Oh you know, just normal chats with my mother. She can’t go one conversation without trying to set me up with some rich family’s daughter she knows.”
Eddie winces. “Never a nice rich boy in that mix.”
The glare Steve gives Eddie is tired and chilling. “What do you think?”
“I’m sorry.” Eddie sits across from Steve. “Sounds like it sucks.”
“Yeah, it does.” Steve sighs, looking at his phone. “I love my parents, I really do. But sometimes it’s hard to. Especially when they keep trying to set me up with people I don’t even know or get me to change careers. I just wished they respected me more than they did.”
“They should, you have a job you love and so what if you’re single. That’s a pretty great deal if you ask me.”
Eddie’s phone dings.
Nancy: Me and my mom are going out for breakfast
Eddie: Cool, have fun
Nancy: I will try
“If it makes you feel any better, Nancy’s mom showed up unannounced and now they’re going out to breakfast.”
Steve’s eyes widen. “Like she drove here this morning?” Eddie nods in confirmation. “That’s not good.”
“Yeah, I know. Still don’t know why she’s here.” Eddie’s stomach rumbles. “God, I’m starving.”
“I haven’t eaten yet, you want to go get something? Unless you have somewhere else to be.”
Eddie smiles. “I do not. Let me get changed, I’ll meet you in five.”
-
Nancy thanks their waiter when he brings them their food. Silently piercing the yolk of her egg and watching it run over to her hashbrowns. Karen talking for the both of them.
“Have you talked to your brother recently? Him and Will are settling in well over in New York, their place looks nice. Small, but nice. I’ll have to take a trip out there some time to visit them.”
She just nods along to her mother’s ramblings. Watching as she pauses to take a bite and just continues. Always dodging around the subject of why she’s here whenever Nancy tries to ask.
“It’s so nice that they’re still together after all these years. Not that being alone is anything bad. I miss the single life. Well, I never really had that much of a single life. I met your father in high school and that was that. Part of me wishes I had a few years to explore, like you did. Get to live life before having a family.”
“Yeah,” Nancy interrupts. Coldly. “Why are you here mom?”
Karen looks taken aback. “Is it wrong to visit my daughter?”
“No, it’s not. But you’ve never just drove here on a whim. There was always at least a phone call, booking a hotel stay. Not waking up at four in the morning one night and deciding to drive five hours to come visit me.” Nancy softens her face. “This isn’t like you, what’s going on?”
Karens mouth twitches as she places down her silverware. Fiddling with her napkin. “You know how it was you father’s and my anniversary last week.”
Nancy nods, listening.
“Well, he forgot, again, and I didn’t want to make the plans again this year. I wanted him to surprise me like he did when we were young. With none of the kids in the house anymore, it gets kinda lonely me and him. When I asked that morning, he scrambled to make plans but couldn’t get a reservation anywhere until last night. Where we basically had a silent meal, paid, and left. No surprises, no anything.”
“I’m sorry, mom. I know how dad can be with the romantic stuff.”
Karen sighs. “Any stuff. If it wasn’t me doing everything, nothing would get done. We haven’t even slept in the same bed since Mike went off to college, and that was years ago. I thought maybe we could try and rebuild what we had. Guess I was wrong.”
Nancy frowns. “I didn’t know that.”
“How could you? You never really came home once you graduated, on to bigger and better things. Not that I blame you, I am so proud of you and the life you’ve built here. I just, didn’t want to bore you with the problems in my life. In my marriage.”
“You could have. I would have listened.”
“I appreciate that.” Karens pauses, closing her eyes. “I’ve decided to leave your dad, Nancy. That’s why I came out to visit you.”
Nancy can’t say she’s surprised. “I’m sorry, mom.”
“Don’t be. I haven’t been happy in years, we all knew it was coming. I just don’t know what I’m going to do now.”
“Whatever you want,” Nancy smiles. “You get to do whatever you want. Go back to school, get a shitty part time job. Get back out there and find a man you deserve. Find new friends, anything. You get to build a new life.”
Karen smiles, tears shining her eyes. “Well, that’s all true, I guess. Thank you for not judging me for this.”
“I never would.” Nancy goes back to her breakfast. “So, what else would you like to do while you’re in town. I have tomorrow off too.”
“I don’t know. But I am excited to find out.”

A list of Gen Steddie fics. For when you just want something that won't make you blush at work. (if you're even capable of blushing anymore)
Tumblr media
(my) love isn't always on time by badfanfictionaire
(1/1 I 497)
Eddie is perpetually late.  He was late to graduation, Wayne’s retirement party, and even Dustin’s graduation party, which he was co-hosting! So when Steve gets to their favorite restaurant after work, and Eddie’s Blazer is in the parking lot already, Steve panics.
I want a moment to be real by 19_empty_vacancies
(1/1 I 544)
"You give up a few things," Steve says eventually. His eyes distant and his voice soft. "Chasing a dream."
The Treasure Planet AU drabble that wouldn't let me sleep until I wrote.
howl at the moon. by allthewaytothechapel

The Munsons go trick-or-treating.
They say I'm going crazy by 0bsessednerd
(1/1 I 1,007 )
It would be his year, if could ever drag his eyes away from the former king of Hawkins High. Steve Harrington.
Eddie knew he stood no chance in hell of having Steve even look at him the way he wants, but that didn’t stop him from wanting. And oh did he want Steve.
He shouldn’t, he knew he shouldn’t. Gareth and Jeff had lectured him in detail on why crushing on him was a horrible idea.
hungry eyes by brokebark
(1/1 I 1,604)
His hair is long, curling over his shoulders, bangs falling into his eyes. His eyes are brown, Steve notes, a really nice brown, one that goes all warm and soft in the light. Steve can’t stop looking. “You have really beautiful eyes, man,” he blurts out.
birds of a feather flock together by Bundibird
(1/1 I 1,918)
"You know," Robin tells Mike, her voice low and calm and soothing. "You can like both girls and boys."
Steve jerks in his seat like someone slapped him.
"What!?" he splutters, and it comes out as something halfway between a yelp and a squawk.
open up your lovin’ arms (i want some, want some) by oaseas
(1/1 I 7,312)
Dustin's concerned Steve's going to die alone. Steve's concerned Dustin won't ever understand the concept of boundaries.
Or: Dustin attempts to save Steve's love-life.
The Little Things We Do by Krasimer
(1/1 I 8,317)
Five times Eddie Munson comes out to someone and the time Steve Harrington realizes he's in love with the guy.
The problem with having such a big group of friends and family was where meetups had to happen.
The Byers-Hopper house was too small, even with the newly purchased building and a bedroom for each kid, plus one for the adults. Eddie and Wayne’s new house, small but clean and filled with their new belongings, paid for by an increasingly frustrated government agent as Eddie and his uncle had listed off their missing items, was also too small. The Wheeler house might have worked, but that would require the presence of the Wheelers – Karen probably would have been fine, but Ted was not. The Buckley home was also a no-go.
Dustin’s house was too cramped, just the right size for him and his mom.
So the Harrington house it was.
Eddie watched as Steve buzzed around the kitchen, checking temperatures and stirring pots, and tried to keep his eyes from catching on him for too long at once.
Dustin Henderson and the Lovebirds by pukner
(1/1 I 9,748)
"You look like you've been mauled, dude," says Lucas. Then, after a beat, "Oh, ew." "What the fuck," says Dustin, cottoning on, "What the fuck. This is hell, you didn't." "Oh, I did," says Eddie, with the air of someone who's won something. He looks like the proverbial cat who's got the canary, if the canary wore polos and listened to Blondie. "Shut up," Steve mutters, flushing as he seems to register what's happening, "Guys, it's not what you--uh, this isn't what it looks like--"
Or, five times Dustin Henderson was subjected to Eddie Munson being gross and sappy and in love with Steve Harrington, and one time Steve didn't even have to be there.
the only way to my heart is with an axe by Themoondogs
(8/8 I 34,495)
No one has caught Steve Harrington’s eye in a while, and he’s not going to go looking. And with his tendency to get involved with interdimensional bullshit and the gaggle of teenagers that follows him around, it’s probably for the best. He quickly learns that the universe has other plans for him, and they come in the shape of a goofy, guitar-wielding nerd.
In which Steve is just trying to live his life but Eddie is essentially hitting him over the head with a very flirtatious hammer.

Stranger Things- the To Do List chapters 5 & 6
Chapter 5- Edwina, Billy, and reader
Chapter 6- Robin, Chrissy, and reader

chapter 5 Billy Hargrove x reader & Edwina Munson
When I think about you I touch myself.
2.3K
When Billy’s family goes out of town he throws a party at Edwina’s band the Hawkins SheDevils plays at. You and Edwina decide to make his night more interesting when he finds out you are into him and that you also like girls.
NSFW (69 and scissoring, squirting all with Edwina. Voyeurism with Billy & Billy stroking himself).
-with Edwina 69 -squirting
Another day as a lifeguard, Billy was looking hot as ever even sweating and shirtless on duty. Even with his sunglasses, he looked stunning. The pool moms were there, even Karen Wheeler, with too much makeup. The kids were loud, but Billy luckily blew his whistle on them. Wearing a one-piece red swimsuit was far from being sexy but you pulled it off well.
Putting more sunscreen on during your break your eyes locked with Billy's high from your lifeguard tower. Billy's gaze met yours and you licked your lips. Taking your cold water bottle you drank some and then poured some of it over your swimsuit, getting your nipples hard and making sure Billy noticed it. When the lifeguard shift was over, you took a dip in the pool at closing time just floating on your back.
“Hey, good looking. You want to close up for the day?”
“Sure.”
“I’d stay but I need to take my car into the shop. Hope you understand. Hey listen my dad is going out this Fourth of July weekend and I’m gonna have a party on Saturday. You wanna come?”
“Sure. I would love to.”
He gave you a wink then left to get changed in his locker.
On the night of the party, you showed up dressed to the nines in all leather- a red leather top and black pants with Barb and Nancy already there. Before going into the party, you shared a joint with Argyle and Eden in his van. One thing led to another and you were making out and fooling around with them before going inside Billy's place.
Edwina was playing with the Hawkins SheDevils. They were doing a rendition of Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue and she looked stunning in black latex and platform red leather boots. Catching her eye she winked at you and started playing Cherry Bomb by The Runaways. You and Nancy danced as you drank some wine from solo cups and Billy came over to you wearing his leather jacket and a Guns N Roses tanktop with ripped jeans.
When they started playing some original songs more people began dancing and you were having the time of your life singing along to every word. Barb was even getting into the party spirit and singing along. The way her fingers moved along the fretboard of her guitar was amazing, and the band sounded spectacular. Nothing about the evening was dull and Billy's party was the best.
Edwina was having the best time onstage taking to it naturally just like her twin Eddie. Everything about tonight was perfect and you wouldn't change a thing. All she looked at was you and you couldn't take your eyes off her or how stunning she was. When they finished playing most everyone toasted with champagne glasses, but Billy opted for beer.
“Hey, gorgeous. Are you having fun?” Billy asked as he put an arm around your shoulder.
“I’m great. I’m enjoying your party so far.”
“Great. Maybe you want to make yourself comfortable in my room and I’ll be there soon. We can watch a movie or something.”
Or something you thought to yourself as you gazed over at Edwina, who was talking to Nancy and Barb.
“Sure. Don’t take too long though.”
Billy pulled out a cigarette and went to smoke as you pulled Edwina to the side. You had recently told her you had a thing for Billy and knowing she would also be at the party would give you the perfect opportunity to be alone with them.
“Billy wants to meet me in his room. Come with me?”
“Of course. He would probably love to see two girls alone in his room.”
Soon you were in Billy’s room sitting on his bed and looking around, finding some Playboy magazines and pornos. Next thing you knew you were making out with Edwina. Not sure how much time had passed, you soon heard the click of a door being opened, closed, and then locked.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?”
You stopped kissing Edwina and looked at Billy.
“Don’t stop on my account.”
“Just having some fun waiting for you. Want to watch us?” Edwina suggested as she held you close.
Billy sat down and tossed his leather jacket to the side.
“Hell yeah, I do.”
"You know, Billy, you don't need to look at dirty magazines and watch porno when you have us," you boldly stated earning a shit-eating smirk from Billy.
Leaving the bed you went over to kiss him crushing your lips against his and soon pulled away leaving traces of your red lipstick on his lips and mouth.
"Let me give you a quick lap dance."
You grinded on Billy as you faced him and he placed his hands firmly on your hips to keep you in place for him. Edwina watched biting her lips as you kissed Billy and grinded on his thigh. You wanted to get him worked up for you and make him hot for you.
"Nice moves there, princess," he encouraged you as you turned around and put his hands on your ass.
"Thanks, Billy," you told him as you removed your top and threw it to the side.
Edwina came over kissing you as Billy groped your ass squeezing it as you moved seductively and gyrated on his lap. She squeezed your chest playing with your breasts as you moved on Billy. The buzz of the alcohol gave you so much confidence as you gave your first-ever lapdance with Edwina and Billy watching your every move. Soon you decided you were done and you had worked him up enough and teased him to your liking.
"I love dancing for you Billy but I think it's time you watch me and Edwina have fun."
"Sounds good hotness."
Going back over to the bed you took off your shoes and lay down next to Edwina picking right up where you left off before kissing her.
"Let's get this party started," Edwina told you as she left the bed.
Soon Edwina undressed, and you did too, feeling turned on and ready to please her as you revealed your butt plug. She pushed you onto the bed kissing you with her tongue, her hand wandering to your pussy and rubbing your clit. You did the same to her pussy taking notice of her clit hood piercing. She moved to position herself so her pussy was pressing up against yours.
“Good girl. Now let me take control.”
Edwina’s words were making you even hornier as she took one of your breasts into her mouth sucking a nipple and rubbing her pussy against yours. She moved slowly at first and rubbed her pierced nipples against your breasts. Looking at Billy you noticed the tent in his pants and his manspreading as he licked his lips. Her lips latched onto your neck sucking it and leaving her mark.
"Come on baby girl I want you to cum for me. Want you to cum all over my pussy," she mewled as she put a finger near your lips. "Open for me," she commanded.
To say he got you aroused would be an understatement and even though the act itself was lustful, you were giving into your deepest and darkest desires. You eagerly obliged her to suck her finger as your pussies made wet squelching noises from the friction of the rubbing.
Billy's heart was racing as he felt his cock harden and he ached to touch himself, to give himself some release as you and Edwina made out heavily with lip biting going practically feral for each other.
"Fuck, I wanna touch myself," Billy confessed in frustration.
"Fuck your cock with your hand," Edwina sternly told him permitting him to touch himself.
Normally Billy would never go for some chick telling him what to do but he was so pent up and turned on he didn't care. He took his dick out as you and Edwina watched eagerly licking your lips. Edwina's pussy against yours was so wet and you were so hot and heavy for her as you kissed and rubbed your glistening, slick pussies together.
"Oh fuck, I'm so pent up," Billy growled, practically feral as he spits on his cock using it as lube to stroke himself.
You soon felt her slick as your pussy squelched from the sensual rubbing of your pussies together. You loved the rhythm you established with her enjoying your first time with her doing this. As you played with each other's breasts, paying careful attention to one another's nipples.
"Yeah baby girl you are so good for me," she urged as she made your nipples hard.
"I love your pussy," you enthused, getting lost in the moment and forgetting about Billy for a bit.
Edwina flipped you over slapping your ass and spreading your cheeks wide, teasing you with the butt plug taking it out then putting it back in.
"Mm, look at that ass isn't it gorgeous, Billy? Just look at that puckered hole," she teased as she spanked you and kneaded your ass.
"Fuck yeah, best ass ever," he grunted deeply.
Edwina whispered into your ear, "Let 69 baby girl."
You got into position with Edwina on top and you on the bottom. Soon she was knuckle-deep inside you and licking your clit like there was no tomorrow earning the pretty moans from your lips.
"Oh fuck yes right there," you cried as you ate her pussy too, gathering her slick with your fingers and rubbing it all over her pussy.
Billy was eagerly stroking and raising his hips as he fucked his hand, loving the show he was getting. You locked eyes with him occasionally, as you and Edwina pleased each other. This woman was all you desired and at that moment, you knew she would be a part of your life for a long time hopefully.
"Mm so tasty love that I get to eat this pussy again," she told you, her voice seductive as Billy mouthed to himself 'again'.
Spitting on her clit you rubbed it around her folds for friction loving how pink and pretty her cunt was. Billy stroked himself faster edging himself as he looked on in lust and then stopping as he listened to the cries and moans from both of your lips. Edwina's thighs shook as she buried her mouth into your pussy lips. She was sucking and finger-fucking you with the utmost precision as you tried your best to match her movements.
"I love your pussy, Edwina! Fuck!" You screamed as she fisted you.
Not even sure how much time had passed, you knew your impending climax would wash over you soon. As the wet sounds of your pussy echoed and as you felt her perfect tongue, your legs shook like jelly eager to let go. Your bodies moved in sync knowing what the other craved, fulfilling your desires, and taking out your pent-up energy on each other.
"Cum for me baby come on show me what you got!" She cheered you on as you clenched her fingers tightly and licked her pussy faster.
"Fuck gonna cum!"
Her orgasm washed over her first Billy was getting close himself. Tasting her cum eagerly you lapped it up. Moments later you felt an incredible new sensation, and it first felt like pee, but it wasn't.
"Oh fuck, she's a squirter, Billy!"
She fingered you through your high tasting your wetness and letting you squirt all over her face. Seeing the mess you made of her you smiled with glee quite impressed with yourself.
"Mmm, I can't believe I did that."
"I'm proud of you," she praised you as she held you close.
He had watched you both come undone and apart for each other with a rapt fascination that his eyes focused the entire time on you and Edwina. It was the hottest image in his mind and he would keep it in his memory spank bank forever. His hand didn't leave his cock as he watched you and Edwina 69.
"Gonna cum. Where should I put it?" Billy growled as he got up still stroking the precum of his cock he rubbed on his shaft for more friction.
"Our asses. Doesn't that sound good, baby?" Edwina asked you as she held you in post-coital bliss.
"Yes, please."
With a wicked grin on his face, Billy threw his head back and went over to you and Edwina stroking faster only needing several more good strokes before he began to cum painting your asses in his thick white cum watching eyes wide with lust as he marked your asses with his seed. After he finished, he cleaned you both up with some Kleenex.
After your encounter with Billy and Edwina, you felt so satisfied and got a ride home from Billy but you watched some fireworks first. Calling Nancy after your shower she answered on the second ring.
"It's me. You'll never guess what happened at the party and I didn't stand you up. I was with Edwina and Billy. Things got hot and heavy. I'll tell you if you wanna know more."
"Of course. Tell me everything."
"Edwina and I were a bit wasted, and he watched us. We scissored and 69'd. He also got off stroking himself," you admitted bluntly, not ashamed in the slightest.
"Wow, way to go! I'm glad you and Billy are getting along. Just glad you got home safe."
"Me too. Nance? Are we still on for our annual July sleepover with Robin and Chrissy? You know we go to the local Hawkins fair and then have the sleepover?"
"The fair, yes. That night though, no go on the sleepover. Jonathan and I already have a date celebrating our anniversary."
"I understand. I can't wait for the fair though. Us and Robin, Chrissy."
"Definitely. See you there."
The sleepover would be soon and you couldn't wait to spend alone time with your girls Robin and Chrissy. Chrissy had recently broken up with Jason and surely you would be able to cheer her up somehow, someway.

I have a burning desire for you baby.

pussy eating, use of toys, use of strap-on
3.1K words
Since your time with Edwina and Billy you had prepared for your night in with the girls and sleepover you would have. Steve was at Family Video leading you eagerly to the back section to look at the X-rated videos. You found what seemed to be the perfect girl-on-girl one Edwina had suggested. You even made out with Steve in the backroom and let him motorboat you, promising he wouldn't tell anyone about your purchase.
The night of the fair you had a funnel cake, candy apple, and cotton candy as you were getting ready to ride more rides. You had already done the petting zoo and games and won a pink stuffed elephant. For the games, you did Skee Ball, weight guessing, ping pong ball, water gun, miniature rifle range, and soda toss. And for the rides, you rode a bounce house, dunk tank, carousel, merry-go-round, and Funhouse so now all you had left was the Ferris Wheel.
With Robin, Chrissy, and Nancy by your side, you were having the perfect night together. Nancy had won a purple stuffed cat, Chrissy a princess tiara, and Robin won a stuffed unicorn. Barb was on vacation with her family so she couldn't be there.
"I'll go with Chrissy on the Ferris Wheel so we'll meet up again soon," Nancy told the group as all of you made your way to the front of the line.
"Okay see you soon, Nance," Robin told her as you linked arms with Robin.
Soon on the Ferris Wheel and preparing for it to start you felt your heart racing with butterflies because Robin was holding your hand. As the ride started you giggled softly.
"Out of everyone I'm glad we are on this ride together," you told Robin.
"Me too. It's been great spending time together a day at the carnival is what I need."
"And tonight a sleepover just us and Chrissy."
As you reached the top the ride came to a halt. Looking at the stars and the full moon it was a beautiful night with the ride and surrounding fairgrounds being lit up solely by the moon.
"I like that. It's too bad Nancy can't come but it's nice she will be with Jonathan."
You boldly leaned in and kissed Robin on the lips just a peck.
"Do it again."
You eagerly obliged kissing her again but a full-on lip-lock this time. The ride started moving again and it was amazing having kissed Robin she was such a good kisser. It was a surprise she was single. It could be meant to be with her. Maybe you could even cheer up Chrissy later after her breakup with Jason.
"I loved that," Robin confessed as she put her arm around your shoulder.
"Me too Robin."
Robin had a glint in her and before you could savor the moment any longer the Ferris Wheel moved again. It went around twice more with you leaning your head against her shoulder.
After the ride on the Ferris wheel, you went on the carousel again picking a horse across from the one Robin chose with Nancy and Chrissy on the unicorns. Jonathan was now there taking pictures of you all ready to pick Nancy up so he could hang out with her that night.
"Hey, Jonathan. Guess I'll catch up with you guys later."
"Bye Nancy." You hugged her and whispered, "I'll tell you later about what happens at the sleepover."
"Bye, Nancy!" Chrissy and Robin said in unison.
"Let's go back to your place and have our sleepover," you suggested.
"Definitely," Robin replied taking your hand and holding it.
Since you had brought your car you drove them back to Robin's. After unloading your stuff from the trunk, you brought everything inside.
"I'm gonna go shower," Chrissy told you and Robin before going to the downstairs bathroom.
"I'm gonna shower too in my room. You can use the guest room bathroom," Robin suggested.
"Thanks."
Even though you didn't have a chance to shower with Robin maybe you could have some fun later. You decided to surprise the girls since you finished your shower first. In the kitchen, you prepared the cheese and fruit tray with crackers and poured some mineral water. With your snacks in the living room, you turned on the TV finding a John Hughes movie Pretty In Pink.
Robin is dressed in comfy pj's a pink tank top and matching shorts. Chrissy was wearing a heart nightgown one piece and short-sleeved. You opted though, to wear sweats with matching purple spaghetti straps.
"Nice snack you made there," Robin teased as she came into the room sitting on the couch next to you.
“Yes, food. Thanks,” Chrissy said meekly.
With you in the middle and Robin, and Chrissy on either side, you watched the movie and enjoyed the snacks. Mid-movie, you went to gather the wine bottle you had brought. Giving the bottle to Robin upon opening it you let her have a drink first. She did and passed it to Chrissy and then giggly Chrissy passed it to you. You continued to pass it around before you broke the silence.
“This movie is fine, but I brought something even better.”
“What? Show us,” Chrissy teased.
Robin nodded, eager to find out. Getting up you got the tape and put it into Robin’s lap. Looking at it she blushed bright red. Chrissy noticed soon after gasping softly.
“Never watched something like this,” Robin mused, as she passed the tape to you.
“I haven’t either but we could watch it I’m curious. Jason and I broke up so I need some sort of release.”
“How about your room, Robin?” You suggested getting up and taking another swig from the bottle.
Robin took the bottle drinking it and passed it back to Chrissy.
“Perfect. Let's go.”
As the movie started and you were laying in Robin’s queen-sized bed the movie began with two women one a nurse and another a patient before finally a female doctor came into the room. Soon everyone was undressed and the foreplay unfolded. It was hot but something told you it would be even hotter to do that for real with Chrissy and Robin.
“I have a drawer of sex toys. I never told anyone that before not even dingus. He's my best friend but he has no idea.”
You didn’t expect this confession from Robin but it was intense.
“We could make a hotter video I bet,” Chrissy said out loud.
“We should use them,” you suggested.
Everyone was tipsy now, and as the film was heating up you leaned into Chrissy kissing her. She kissed you back before she crashed her lips into Robin’s. As they made out, you explored Robin’s drawers, finding the toys in the second drawer. Taking out the pink and purple strap-on, you held it and admired it. Robin soon noticed and stopped kissing Chrissy, the porno long forgotten.
“That would be fun to use. Only with lots of foreplay first. I mean, I’ve only had sex with one girl, Vickie, but I would use it on either of you gladly.”
“I’ve never done it with a girl,” Chrissy admitted before continuing. “Have you, Y/N?”
“Yes, with Edwina twice.”
“Let's try it then I’ll use it and first I’ll get you ladies ready for me. Get undressed.”
You and Chrissy undressed each other as Robin watched, also getting naked. Robin took the rubber strap-on and put it aside. You and Chrissy watched eagerly as she stripped licking your lips. Chrissy kissed you and tasted you as you both got more comfortable on the bed and Robin got on her knees.
“Now sit side by side and let me taste you both. I’ll take turns,” Robin instructed as you got on your back next to Chrissy, who did the same.
“I want to feel your tongue first, Robs. Please!” Chrissy begged.
She went over to Chrissy feeling her juices with her fingers. She was slick and soon she noticed it was the same for you.
“Mm patience, baby girl.”
As she fingered you she ate out Chrissy giving her kitten licks first. Then as she got Chrissy worked up with sucking on her clit, she pulled away licking her lips and kissing Chrissy, letting her taste herself. Next, she took charge of eating your pretty pussy, loving how you tasted, savoring your taste on her lips as Chrissy watched. She touched your breasts and Robin looked on eagerly laving at your pussy. Spitting on it she sucked it clean and your juices as her fingers pumped inside Chrissy’s wet hot pussy walls.
Switching back to Chrissy you played with Chrissy's nipples stroking and pinching them as you kissed the prettiest sounds escaping both your mouths. Chrissy's cries grew even louder. She lifted her body off the bed as Robin made her tremble with delight. Robin teased her more by going back to you sucking your clit making your pretty whimpers grow louder. When she felt like she had gotten you wet enough, she stopped and met your lips in a kiss. Tasting your nectar from her pretty mouth you licked your lips clean.
“I think I wanna have you fuck Chrissy first with the strap and I want to have Chrissy eat me out.” She says this more as a command than a simple request.
“Maybe you can alternate it on us, too,” Chrissy suggests.
“Maybe later, but for now I want to be pleased like I deserve to be.”
Seeing Robin in dom mode was so hot. Chrissy put on the strap and Robin positioned herself on the bed, legs spread wide. She was now all yours for the taking. Chrissy used the lube on the rubber dildo strap-on and bent you over pulling you back by your hair to her liking as she lined herself up at your entrance.
“Mm, that's right fuck her as she eats me out,” Robin, orders giving you a beckoning come-to motion with her dark purple polished fingers.
“Yes, Robin. I want to very much.”
Chrissy bottomed out inside you the slick of your pussy coating the fake cock. Almost as soon as you licked Robin’s pretty clit Chrissy moved inside you starting with slow yet languid movements before her thrusts became more steady.
“Mm, how does her pussy taste?” Chrissy asked her eyes full of curiosity.
“So fucking good!” You squealed as you pumped two fingers inside of her.
Robin’s legs wrapped around your back pulling you in closer as she tilted her head back riding your face in pure ecstasy. Chrissy’s thrusts sped up then became consistent again as you tasted Robin’s sweet essence and nectar, your tongue exploring her pussy paying special attention to her clit.
“Oh, yeah, fuck! Eat me just like that!” She beckoned her pretty sounds only growing with anticipation of her eventual release.
Chrissy made cute sounds as her faux cock penetrated you squelching noises filling the room her cock worked its magic and her hand got a steady grip on your hair. Robin tasted so sweet and so divine. It wasn’t easy to explain how wonderful her essence was, but you were already becoming addicted to it.
“Doing such a good job, baby fucking her with your cock!” Robin enthuses between moans as you moaned even louder from Chrissy’s thrusts.
Robin was getting closer to her release, but she let you edge her and Chrissy fucked you harder. After minutes more of Chrissy fucking your cunt and you devouring Robin, Robin pushed you away slightly.
“Change positions. Need Chrissy to eat my sweet pussy.”
Robin was a no-nonsense woman and you knew perfectly well she meant what she said. Chrissy removed the strap helping you get it on and adjusting it for you to use. As you got closer to her, you could feel her heat. No doubt she was aching for you.
“I can't wait to taste you, Robin,” Chrissy tells her sounding delighted.
Now face down and ass up, Chrissy had her arms wrapped around Robin’s legs and moved her face closer to her slick heat. Kissing up Robin’s inner thighs Chrissy sucked and licked her thighs leaving light bite marks in her wake.
“Ready Chrissy?”
“Yes ready. Do your worst,” she dared you.
You filled her to the hilt and abruptly slammed into her aching pussy as she had her first taste of Robin, causing Rob to moan her name and get a good fistful of her hair. Chrissy lapped eagerly at her entrance as you fucked her hard and slapped her ass earning loud mewls and sexy moans from Chrissy’s lips.
“Oh, fuck so tight!” You told her sounding enthralled as you left scratch marks on her back. They were prominent and you wanted to claim her- mark your territory.
“Yeah, that's right eat my pussy! Devour it like your life depended on it!” Robin groaned holding her head down so she was suffocated by her pussy.
It was the sexiest thing seeing Robin take over like this. She knew what she desired and went for it no matter what. You were aching with a burning desire and penetrating her tight and wet pussy was the experience of a lifetime. Robin was on the precipice of cumming and Chrissy was doing the best job eating her out. It seemed like she was aching for you both and you knew she was having the time of her life tonight.
“Make me cum! Gonna coat that pretty face in my juices!”
Robin sounded like a woman about to come undone and how could she not with Chrissy feasting on her like it was the last supper? It was a good thing The Buckleys were out of town this weekend because you and the girls were being so loud with all the naughty fun and sinful things you were doing. Giving into every whim and desire sexually felt so freeing. Fucking Chrissy with the strap-on made her gasp and groan emitting the prettiest sounds to escape from her lips.
“Oh fuck yes make her cum!” You enthused pumping in and out of her kneading her ass and making Chrissy’s ass cheeks jiggle.
“Oh yes! Right there! Take all my cum, Chrissy. Be my little cum slut!” Robin screamed, sounding feral as she creamed all over the blonde’s mouth and face.
As she rode out her high, Robin tugged Chrissy’s hair harder.
“Mm tastes so good Robin. What are you gonna do to us now?” Chrissy asked hoping Robin wasn’t done with her just yet.
“Kiss her first then you’ll see.”
Chrissy eagerly kisses you and you deepen it with your tongue. Meanwhile, Robin gets up from the bed and kisses you crashing her lips against yours. You savored the kiss as she removed the strap-on. Soon she had it on and she smirked with satisfaction. Not knowing what she was up to you raised your brows curiously.
“Need to have you ladies lick this clean once I finish you both up and make you scream my name and cum. Lay down now!” She demanded as Chrissy eagerly and quickly obeyed her.
You lay next to Robin spreading your legs and wrapping your left leg around Chrissy’s right. Robin positioned herself at your entrance, soon pumping the dildo inside. It was clear she loved it judging by the smirk on her face. Chrissy licked your nipple and sucked as you emitted the prettiest noises from your lips.
“Oh yes, take this cock! I wanna see you cum all over it baby girl!”
Tilting your head back you loudly whined especially from the sensation of Chrissy’s tongue on your breast. Robin picked her pace up teasing you by slipping out the cock then pushing it right back in and pumping away again.
“Robin, I’m so close!” You whined.
It was a magnificent feeling and you couldn’t wait to come undone. You had never had this feeling or pleasure like this before from this type of stimulation from another person. Soon you could take what you had been learning and discovering about yourself from this sexual energy and share it with the first guy you lost your virginity to who would hopefully be Billy.
“Yes, cum for us!” Chrissy pleaded as she met your lips in a searing kiss.
Her kiss was filled with so much passion as you closed your eyes and let go cumming for Robin creaming the toy and collapsing in a heap on the bed as Robin pulled out of you.
“Good job. So proud of you.”
She leaned in to kiss you before moving over to Chrissy and fucking her with the cock. She took it so well crying out so pretty for Robin. It was a sight to see. You took one of Chrissy’s nipples into your mouth, then the other. Her breasts were gorgeous. So perfect.
“Yeah, take that, you little whore!” Robin spat out as Chrissy whined and she slapped her gently across her right cheek.
“Yes, mommy gonna cum!” Chrissy mewled, not being able to last much longer.
“Then cum for me!”
Chrissy came undone moments later, calling out Robins's name as Robin pulled out. Now on your knees for her, joined by Chrissy, you took her fake cock into your mouth applying suction and hollowing out your cheeks as she hit the back of your throat. She pulled out and did the same to Chrissy. The taste of your pussy juices combined with Robin’s was incredible.
“So beautiful. I had fun tonight,” Robin told you sounding intrigued as she lay in the middle of you and Chrissy strap-on now gone and the three of you holding hands.
“Me too Robin, me too,” Chrissy chimed in.
“You are both amazing,” you added.
At home days after and writing in your diary, you felt accomplished. Heather comes by your room though interrupting you.
“Can I help you?”
“What are you writing in your journal now, sis? I know everything that's happened, you know. I read your diary.”
“Shut up Heather, get out!”
“Fine, but I know Billy is your next conquest. And by the way, I know he likes you.”
She walks off leaving you alone finally. Hopefully, that was true because you wanted to lose your virginity and planned to ask Billy out on a date soon.

5 times Steph and Eddie refer to each other as husband and wife +1 time they make it official
Part 1 (also on ao3 here)
...............................................
Stevie probably should have shut this all down weeks ago.
The kids have been calling her mom since before she even came out to them, so she’s admittedly kind of given up on stopping that one. The problem is now they’ve gotten Eddie in on it.
Well, Eddie’s not calling her mom. If he started doing that, she thinks she’d no longer be fit for public. She’d have to crawl in a hole and never come out, like how old cats sometimes wander away to die alone, except she’d be dying not of old age but of the mortification of an unrequited crush. So luckily, that isn’t happening.
But now, as she arrives at the Wheelers’ house to pick up the kids after a D&D session, she’s forced to confront the fact that Eddie calling her mom is not apparently the worst thing that could come of this whole thing.
It starts when she’s getting on Dustin’s case about leaving his shit all over the basement. These kids treat every space they’re in like they own it, but Stevie is very aware how hard Karen had to work to convince Ted to let Eddie host Hellfire here, and she’s not about to let that hard work go to waste just because the kids left the basement a bomb site.
Dustin rolls his eyes at her nagging, lets out a long-suffering sigh and a “Yes, mom,” and Stevie has barely finished giving him an obligatory sisterly noogie before things get out of hand.
“If Stevie’s our mom, does that make Eddie our dad?” Lucas says, casually, completely unaware that putting ‘Eddie’ and ‘dad’ in the same sentence has just completely broken Stevie’s brain.
Eddie, though. Eddie smells blood in the water. He’s got that look on his face, that one Stevie usually loves, the one he always gets right before he commits to a bit with overdramatic vigour.
Sure enough, Eddie immediately prostrates himself over the couch, hand to his forehead, looking the picture of a lovelorn idiot. “Stevie,” he says, sounding genuinely heartbroken. “It’s just been so hard, raising our kids alone since the divorce.”
Stevie scoffs. “You’re raising our kids? You get them for a few hours once a week, pretty sure I’m the one shuttling their ungrateful asses to and from school every day.”
“Ungrateful?” Dustin splutters, as if he doesn’t show up at Stevie’s door at entirely random times of the day and demands she drive him to whatever nerd shit he’s got going on next.
“You’re right, that’s unfair,” she says, and then before anyone can get a word in: “You’re lovely, Will, always so polite. But the rest of you little shits. Ungrateful.”
Will smiles serenely as his friends immediately erupt into complaints, and Eddie ignores them all to prostrate himself at Stevie’s feet.
“I know I haven’t been around often, but baby, won’t you give me another chance?”
Stevie thinks she’d probably give Eddie anything he asked for, as long as he’s asking on his knees before her. It’s definitely a good look for him, and it’s only the clamour of the kids around her that keeps her face from going bright red.
She’s gotta play it cool here. Roll with the ridiculousness, always the best way to deal with Eddie, to keep him grinning at her like that, his whole face lit up like sunshine.
“Well…” she says, pretending to think it over, like she wouldn’t marry him in a heartbeat if he asked for real. That would be a bit much, given they’ve only known each other for a year and some change. “I suppose… although I’m not seeing a ring.”
Eddie grins like she’s fallen into some trap, and immediately slides the ring off his right hand- her favourite one with the big round stone in the middle that she likes to play with sometimes when they’re smoking together- and holds it up to her, a challenge in his eyes. Well. Only way out is through. She holds out her hand for him, the left one, and he slides the ring gently onto her ring finger. It fits perfectly.
“There you go,” he says, softly. His eyes are so warm, like pools of melted chocolate, and Stevie feels like she might drown in them. Her whole world has narrowed to the man on his knees before her- she’s distantly aware of the kids around them losing their minds (she’s pretty sure Mike is gagging, but that’s so far from her mind right now it might as well be happening on a different planet).
Eddie smiles up at her. “There’s my wife.”
“Your wife,” she whispers, unbearably fond. Stevie wants to hear him call her that for the rest of her life.
This really isn’t helping with her crush.
Sound filters in slowly, the world around them coming back in with the hushed whispers of the kids. Honestly, they’re quieter than she thought they’d be after this display, although the way Mike is rubbing his ribs suggests that this peace was hard won. They round the kids up pretty easily after that, with surprisingly little complaining as Stevie harangues them into cleaning up their shit. Eddie helps, occasionally glancing up at Stevie and looking quickly away with a fierce blush.
Later, after Stevie’s dropped off most of the kids and it’s only her and Will left in the car, riding home in silence as Stevie fiddles with the ring still on her finger, she tries not to read too much into everything that just happened. Will isn’t helping.
“So,” he says, in that sly, quiet way of his. “How long have you and Eddie been together?”
Stevie splutters. “That’s not- we’re not together. That was just- you know how Eddie is, he’s… theatrical.”
Will hums noncommittally. “He is. I don’t think that’s what that was, though. You like him, right?”
If this was any of the kids other than Will, Stevie thinks she’d deny it. God knows Dustin couldn’t be trusted with that information. But Will, quiet, sensitive Will- she thinks he’d get it.
“Yeah,” she says softly. “I really do. But it’s not- he doesn’t like me like that.”
She pulls up to the Byers’ house and parks the car in the drive. They both sit for a moment, basking in the silence. After a moment, Will suddenly leans over the gearshift, wrapping Stevie up in a weird, slightly uncomfortable hug. It feels nice.
“For what it’s worth,” he says as he pulls back and opens his door, “he looked really happy when he called you his wife. Even Eddie’s not that good of an actor.”
With that, he gently closes the car door behind him. Stevie watches as he runs up to his front door, and waves when Joyce comes out to greet him.
She drives most of the way home on autopilot, fiddling with the ring on her finger and thinking of Eddie’s face as he’d placed it on her hand. His gentle smile, his warm, chocolate eyes, full of something like love. His fingers had been rough with callouses as they’d brushed against hers, but still soft in a way that had nothing to do with his skin.
Maybe, she thinks, as she enters her quiet mausoleum of a house. Just maybe.
She goes to sleep that night, alone in her bed, with her last sight before unconsciousness being that of a gleaming ring on her left finger, and dreams of a husband who loves her.

“You said you’d come this time.”
A fat tear rolls down his daughter’s face and another piece of his heart cracks open. Going back to Hawkins has never been such a big deal before; he hasn’t been back to Indiana since 1987, has no intention of going now, thank you very much. The Wheelers still live in Hawkins, Ted too stingy to move them somewhere better after the ‘earthquake’, so Nancy goes back a couple of times a year, often with the kids in tow. That’s fine with him, Ted hates him for trapping his daughter (like anyone could trap Nancy into doing anything she didn’t want) and Karen is civil at best. It’s just Wayne he misses, and Wayne comes to visit as often as he can. So all up he has no reason to ever go back to that godforsaken shithole.
But this year is different. This year they’re all going back.
All except him.
“You lied.”
Eddie counts to five in his head; he’s on a hair trigger these days and he’s doing his best to rein it in. There are days when he feels his anger bloom and he’s worked hard to be less like his dad and more like Wayne. His kids deserve better than he ever got. But they make it so fucking hard sometimes.
“I said I’d try.”
“But you’re not trying!”
He can see Nancy’s about to flip her lid, she’s stressed enough as it is so he waves her off. She’s all about manners and etiquette, but she’s about to go on the road with two kids for the next four hours on her own, no point making it worse.
Eddie checks Jimmy’s car seat and pokes him on the nose. He get’s a giggle in return. It’s nice to have one child that doesn’t hate him, anyway.
“Be good for your mom, okay? Give grandpa Wayne a big kiss from me.”
Another giggle from Jimmy. Tabitha doesn’t even look at him.
“Bye, Tabs. I love you.”
Silence.
“I don’t like leaving you like this,” says Nancy. He always thought she was so stoic, so brave, until they fell in love and she let him in. Nancy’s a magician with her emotions but he knows all her tricks now after nearly a decade together. He cradles her cheek and leans in for a kiss.
“I’ll be okay, I promise.”
“I just think you shouldn’t be alone for this one, Ed.”
‘This one’: ten years since Chrissy, ten years since he nearly died.
He wraps his arms around her and pulls her close.
“Call me as soon as you get in, okay?” He feels her nod against his chest. “And say hi to your exes for me.”
Nancy slaps him playfully on the chest.
“I love you,” she says. “You know that don’t you?”
He nods, because he can feel his throat tighten and he’ll make a fool of himself he opens his mouth. He knows she loves him, but even now after all these years and two children he still wonders at it, still waits for the other shoe to drop and for her to leave him. He’s made life hard for her and he hates himself every day for it.
“Nance? If anything happens—”
“I’ll bring them straight home. I swear.”
Eddie’s riddled with anxiety, takes enough medication to fell a rhino trying to control it, but that’s the big one, it all happening again with his family there and him being unable to stop it. Nancy would never endanger their kids, but even she couldn’t stop the world from turning inside out again.
The house feels wrong when they’re not there, everything off kilter, and it always takes him a while to adjust to the gnawing silence.  He spends the day napping and watching TV, until he gets a call from Nancy to say they’ve arrived safely. Half an hour later he gets another one from Steve calling him an asshole and telling him he’s going to teach Jimmy how to play basketball as revenge for not coming. Jimmy is three but the fucker would find a way.
He nods off again, and the next time he wakes Gareth is sitting beside him on the sofa.
“How the fuck did you get in my house?”
“Your wife gave me a key.”
He feels like he’s still asleep and only getting half the conversation. He can hear banging and crashing coming from his bedroom.
“Who—”
“Ask him where his shorts are!” yells Jeff from the top of the stairs. Of course it’s fucking them.
“I don’t do shorts!” Eddie yells back. “What do I need shorts for?”
“We got an RV for a week, road-trip!”
He pinches his nose, hard. They’re all married, sensible adults apparently, but sometimes it’s like they never got the memo.
“I can’t just take off, man, what if Nancy calls? What if she needs me?”
Gareth cups his ear. “What’s that, Lassie? There’s a cell phone in the RV? Good girl, Lassie!”
“Asshole.”
This is nuts, it’s fucking insane, he’s not going anywhere with these bozos and if anything right now he’s furious with them. Clearly Gareth gets the message, as he stills beside him and takes Eddie by the shoulders.
“Ed,” he says gently. “Nancy is worried sick about you, man, and so are we. I know it’s a big week for you, no one wants you here on your own for it, okay? So we’re going on a road trip, we’re going to drink beer and smoke weed like we’re kids and we’re going to forget about the world for one week.”
One week.
One week in March 1986 was all it took to ruin his life. He’ll never erase the pain of it, Spring Break will always be a time that haunts him.
But maybe Tabby’s right, maybe he’s not trying hard enough.
Eddie let’s out his best put upon sigh, and Gareth beams at him.
“So, where are we going then?”

@steddiemas Day 18 -  Classic Christmas Songs (The First Nöel)
pairing: steddie | word count: 1,924 | rated: G
Tumblr media
It didn’t take too long after the song started for Eddie to want out.
He debated staying, just to listen to Steve sing along to it under his breath while he meticulously weaved strips of dough over a pie with what Eddie thinks is way too huge a mound of blueberries, but even that didn’t help.
Steve’s ‘everyone over for Christmas dinner before Christmas’ idea made Eddie skeptical at first, having literally everyone (the Hendersons, Mrs. Wheeler along with Nancy, Mike, and Holly, The Sinclairs, the Hopper-Byers clan, Gareth and Freak along with Jeff and his mom, the Buckleys (of course), and even he and Wayne) together under one roof seemed like a disaster waiting to happen.
But no.
Everyone got along great, the lot of them snacking on meats and cheeses, stolen candy and cookies that Steve had made over the last couple days, Wayne, Hop, and Claudia are fussing over two whole turkeys and a huge ham, and Joyce, Karen and Lucas are whipping up huge batches of side dishes.
And it doesn’t usually affect him this bad anymore, but that damned song paired with all of their huge chosen family together under one roof like this, warm, happy, healthy…he had to leave.
He did not want to get emotional in front of them.
The sound of the door sliding on its track breaks Eddie’s reverie. It was longer than he thought it’d take for someone to come looking for him, but he suspects that it was done on purpose.
He doesn’t look back at who decided to grace him with their presence, but immediately knows who it is when a hat gets pushed down onto his head, just a bit too far down.
“You’re not catching a cold on my watch, Munson.”
Eddie pushes the fold of the knit cap off his eyes, “Wasn’t planning on it Steve-o.”
“Coulda fooled me. As if trying to withstand a whole winter in a leather jacket isn’t gonna give you a cold.”
A snort of a laugh escapes Eddie’s lips at Steve’s sarcastic tone. “I have, and no colds yet.”
“Uh huh. Sure.” Steve says, sitting down beside him.  “That’s why you borrowed my old puffer coat last time you were here, right?”
The lone poolside chair not packed away for the season wasn’t his first choice of seating, but it was the only one. Though Steve’s dry heat beside him is already a welcome balance to the cold metal and plastic of the chair.
Eddie’s lips twitch up into a brief smile, “I didn’t want to get mine all wet.”
They fall silent after that, and Eddie fishes his lighter and pack of Marlboro’s out of his pocket, pulling one out of the carton and lighting it up.
He offers one to Steve, but he waves him off.
“So.” Steve says after about half the cigarette was gone.
“So?”
“Are you alright, Eddie?”
He stays silent, debating whether or not to actually tell Steve what was wrong or just brush it off again.
“Was it something I–we said? Or did?” Eddie caught the slip, and decided he was going to tell him, but Steve continued on, “I know you’re not the biggest fan of Christmas anyway..”
“No, it’s not—” Eddie heaves a sigh, and even he can hear the exasperated relenting in it. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Steve. None of you did.”
He takes a drag and blows out a long stream of steamy breath and smoke. It hits him then, before he even speaks, that he’s being dramatic. Has been being dramatic. What a stupid thing to get emotional about.
“My middle name is Nöel. Like, fully, exactly how it’s supposed to be spelled for the holidays. The two dots over the O and everything. So it’s just me being dramatic; it gets annoying to hear all season.”
At first, Eddie thinks he’s gotten away with it, that Steve’s silence is just satisfied understanding, but just before he’s about to put himself back on the right way to go back inside, Steve speaks again.
“Where’d the name come from?”
Eddie finally looks over at him, taking in the comically mismatched pink My Little Pony scarf (Erica’s) and bright safety green beanie (Robin’s) he’d thrown on before coming out to the patio. “..Huh?”
Eloquent as ever, Munson.
“C’mon man.” Steve says, rolling his eyes fondly and nudging Eddie’s shoulder with his own. “You act like I don’t know you.”
Eddie’s “You don’t.” is automatic.
Steve just scoffs, “You disappeared without a word, man; normally you announce, with wildly different levels of dramatics each time, that you’re going to smoke, or you ‘gotta take a leak’. You didn’t do that this time so naturally that means this was more than just getting annoyed by a Christmas carol.”
Eddie blinks at him. Stunned by the proof that he, Eddie Munson, was one of the people Steve used his almost insane levels of observation on after all. Usually it’s wasted on the kids; Steve’s acute ability to hone in on exactly what each of the party needs at any given time—how Steve has encyclopedic knowledge on each of their favorite snacks, their preferred drinks, games, movies, which blankets they like to steal from the Harringtons’ nearly bottomless linen closet—almost always goes unappreciated.
“I may not get a lot of things, but I do pay attention to the people I care about.” Steve continues on, voicing Eddie’s thoughts.
“You a mind reader now too, Harrington?”
Steve grins at him, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Nah man, I’m just a damn good babysitter.”
Eddie huffs out another laugh, “Sorry to tell ya this, but I don’t need to be babied or sat.”
He doesn’t say anything more, just waits for Eddie to continue.
“It was my mom.” Eddie finally concedes, “She gave me the name Nöel. So you kinda hit it on the head, there is more to it than just the song.
“Wayne says she chose it because she loved the season, that it was when she felt most at peace no matter what else was going on in her life.”
Steve is quiet beside him, just existing in the space while Eddie finishes off his cigarette.
“And that’s why I get so salty about Christmas. It’s not because she died around this time of year, which doesn’t help of course, it’s because she loved the holiday so much. I mean,” he snorts, “She named me after it after all. So this time of year always felt so wrong without her.”
He stubs the flame under his boot, scrubbing it into the concrete and promising himself he’ll come back for the butt later (he’ll forget).
The younger man is silent for two more breaths.
“Eddie, I am so sorry..”
All he can do is shrug, “It’s fine Steve, I’m used to that song by now–well, I was.”
“What changed?”
Eddie lets out another steadying breath. “When I was little, down in Tennessee, it was worse because I was little. All the crafts and games and things they did with first and middle names in elementary school y’know?” He sees Steve nod out of the corner of his eye. “The kids down there would sing the damn song at me to make fun of me. After I came up here to live with Wayne it got better…kinda.
“The kids here didn’t know what my middle name was, and Wayne would switch the radio station if that godforsaken song would come on come December, but even then, every time it did come up…it was like a pointed little finger poked into the bruise left behind after mom died.” Eddie says, jabbing the air in front of him with his own finger in a harsh movement before letting his hand drop back down to his lap. “It was starting to get better, hearing my name like that.”
“How so?” Steve’s voice lilts into something eager, but just barely.
Eddie sucks in a deep breath and the cold, dry air burns his nose as he does.
“You.” he states, using all the breath he’d taken in on the one word.
“Me?” Steve asks in disbelief.
“Ever since I found out that you also think November 1st means Christmas decorations need to be up.” Eddie nods, he wasn’t about to tell him about the soupy gut feeling he’d gotten when he heard Steve singing along to that stupid fuckin’ song. “Annoying, but it was the same when I was little.
“You should see the pictures,” he grins, continuing on, “A little Batman helping mom put up the tree because I didn’t want to take off my costume–even slept in it a couple times, waking up the next morning to hot chocolate, candy canes, and popcorn garlands.”
“That’s adorable.” Steve laughs, and Eddie laughs with him, his chest feeling miles looser than when he first came out here.
They’re silent for a bit, listening to the muffed yells of the kids coming from inside about who knows what.
“I’ll follow Wayne’s example,” Steve says eventually. “I’ll make sure to change the station, won’t sing it any—”
“Nah, no way man. You don’t have to do that. Like I said, it was getting better.”
“Still, I don’t want to make you upset.”
“Don’t worry about it Stevie,” he sniffs, looking over the empty pool, “I like when you sing it.” he admits before he can stop himself.
Aw fuck.
“You do?”
 “I do.”
What the fuck are you doing?!
“You do.” Steve states as if he doesn’t believe him.
Eddie nods silently, gulps around the nerves in his throat. “It’s stupid, but it’s like you’re singing about me rather than at me. It’s…nice.”
Steve falls quiet, so he turns to face him again; Steve’s eyes are wide, cheeks red from the cold and otherwise pale.
Shocked. And not in a good way.
“Just don’t tell any of the other jerks, ‘kay?” Eddie laughs, it comes out strained. “They’d definitely be singing it at me if they found out.”
Steve’s face thaws into something softer at that, his lips twitch like they want to smile.
“Also, I hardly doubt Henderson’s got nearly as good a voice as you do.”
That finally melts him completely, “Henderson’s actually got some pipes on him.” he laughs softly and knocks his shoulder into Eddie’s. “You should hear his Madonna.”
“Yeah no. No thank you.” Eddie says as he stands, “C’mon Stevie, let’s go back in and eat. It’s time to eat already, right?” He offers him a hand.
Steve takes it and pulls himself up, “After you, Edward Nöel.” he does a sarcastic half-bow, waving Eddie forward.
Eddie scoffs at him, but starts toward the door nevertheless. “That’s not even what Eddie’s short for.”
“Aw, what?! What’s it short for?”
“Nuh uh, I already bared one part of my soul tonight.” (“Aw come on!”) Maybe I’ll tell you after we’ve been friends for another nine months or so.”
Steve laughs as they reach the sliding door. “Lookin’ forward to it, Eds.”
Eddie’s about to slide it open when Steve suddenly stops him, grabbing his wrist.
“Wait–Eddie, before we go back inside, I wanted to ask you something.”
“Uh, yeah, sure. Shoot.” he turns to face him properly.
Eddie watches Steve’s eyes flicker over his face. They hover somewhere below his nose before coming back up to lock onto his eyes.
“Can I kiss you?’
“C–can you kiss– What?! Why? When—”
Steve stops Eddie's spluttering when he tilts his head back to look above them.
God. Damn. Mistletoe.
